The Most Romantic Casinos in the US, According to Visitors

Casinos and romance don't too often go hand-in-hand. When you think of visiting a land-based casino establishment, you think of the bright lights, the casino games, the drinks, and the lively atmosphere. But in reality, there is much more to casino resorts that make them the perfect destination for Valentine's Day, weddings, proposals, and honeymoons. 

Most casinos have many food options with multiple restaurants, luxurious rooms, suits, and top-notch spa facilities. There are even slot games like Wild Wild Romance, and what's not to love about you and your significant other deciding together whether or not to double down on a live blackjack hand?

But alas, some casino destinations are more romantic than others. There's obviously Vegas, a premier destination for couples. Still, there are 100s of casinos around the USA that are hugely popular with couples celebrating engagements, on their honeymoons, or even getting married. 

And who better to look into which is the most romantic casino in the USA than us, Casinos.com? We review casino sites too, but find they are much less romantic than places you can actually step foot in, so we'll stick to the brick-and-mortar establishments for this particular study. 

To decipher this, we wanted to measure reviews of casinos around the USA and delve into the data from real-life visitors to decipher how many people visited for romantic reasons. We measured keywords in reviews such as "romantic", "proposal", "proposed", "wedding", "engaged", "married", "marriage," and "honeymoon". We scoured the data across 30 of the US's most visited and reviewed casino establishments, including many locations outside of Vegas. 

The Results - Which is the Most Romantic Casino in the USA

Well, you just can't get away from Vegas on this one, can you? The Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino emerged as the most romantic casino in the nation, with 5.58% of reviews featuring romance-related keywords. The Venetian came out significantly ahead of the competition regarding proposals and weddings, with the most honeymoon references also at the famous Vegas casino. 

Three popular Vegas casinos, unsurprisingly, were in the top three. Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa at 3.71% and the Aria Resort & Casino at 3.33% were next in line for the nation's most romantic casinos. 

Outside of Vegas, the most romantic casino in the entire country was in Michigan, where the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant boasts 3.1% of reviews mentioning a romantic element to their trip. 

Another high-performing was the MGM Grand Detroit, also a casino in Michigan - which also gives the state the second highest number of romantic casinos in the US, with Nevada in first. 

The Pechanga Casino Resort in California, the first tribal casino to feature on the list, had a romance review percentage of 2.71%. The rest of the top 10 included the Bellagio and MGM Grand in Vegas, alongside Mandalay Bay. 

Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls, New York, also cracked the top 10 with a 2.23% romance rating. 

Among notably poor performers was the Horseshoe Casino in Maryland, Baltimore, which had a staggeringly low 0.10% romance review rating, with just 24 reviews out of 24,151 mentioning one of the keywords measured. We can't definitely say it's the least romantic casino in the US, but our data has found it's definitely the least romantic. 

Two Mohegan Sun establishments, one in Wilkes-Barre (0.68%), Pennsylvania, and the other in Uncasville, Connecticut (0.53%), also left much to be desired in the romance category. 

Methodology

Casinos.com utilized Trip Advisor reviews to do an in-depth analysis of phrases associated with romance to determine the most and least romantic casinos in the United States. We calculated the percentage of romance-rated mentions in the total Trip Advisor reviews and extrapolated them as if all casinos had the same number of reviews for fairness. For the purposes of this study, only casinos with a minimum of 500 reviews were measured.
