Gambling is legal in Florida across multiple forms, but the landscape is complex and unique. The Seminole Tribe operates seven tribal casinos across Florida offering full gaming - slots, table games, and poker - including the flagship Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.
The tribe also has exclusive statewide mobile sports betting through Hard Rock Bet, the only legal mobile sportsbook in Florida, operating under a tribal gaming compact upheld by the US Supreme Court in June 2024. The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians is operates the 8th tribal casino in Florida, in Miami-Dade county. Several commercial casinos also operate in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, but are limited to slots only - no table games.
Most commercial casinos are racinos offering dog racing and horse racing and some offer betting on Jai-Alai Fronton. The world famous Hileah Park is one of these.
Florida Lottery is state-run and directs proceeds to education. Pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing and jai alai is permitted at tracks and off-track betting locations statewide.
