Miccosukee Resort & Gaming Reviewed for 2026

Located at the edge of the Florida Everglades, and close to Miami airport, Miccosukee Resort is an established casino resort with a good reputation.

Providing hotel accommodation, a good range of amenities, restaurants, activities and a variety of gaming facilities, Miccosukee offers a comprehensive leisure facility under one roof.

Its tranquil location and unique surroundings are a big draw for tourists, plus the fact that it is less than an hour’s drive from Miami centre means it is highly convenient.

I went along to see just what this tribal casino has to offer and how it compares to Florida’s other casino resorts.

♦️ An Overview of Miccosukee Resort

As with many tribal casinos, the Miccosukee resort first started out as a Bingo Hall which opened in 1990. It was such a success, that nine years later the Miccosukee tribe heavily invested in the project, turning it into the full hotel and gaming resort we see today.

The resort has a unique location with it being so close to the everglades. In fact, its bright high-tech casino is a stark contrast from the scenic wetland ecosystem that it sits alongside.

What this location means though, is that the casino has both a serene yet convenient location and it can offer some unique attractions that other casinos can’t, such as Everglades airboat tours.

The Miccosukee village is also close-by, meaning you can experience the history and heritage of the tribe first-hand.

From the outside, the resort looks attractive, it has a mostly white exterior with orange and red accent colours and it stands nine storeys tall. Driving up, I found the surroundings to be pleasant with greenery and palm trees leading up to the entrance.

Once inside, the reception was spacious, clean and had the same white, red and orange colour scheme which featured throughout the hotel.

The reception was warm and welcoming, I felt well looked-after, both on arrival and during my stay, so customer service definitely seemed to be a high priority.

The casino itself is around 70,000 square feet, and the resort also has conference space of around 35,000 square feet. I enjoyed the fact that the main casino floor was smoke-free, but there was also a dedicated smoking gaming facility too with its own bar.

The casino is open 24/7 and as with all other Florida casinos, guests must be 18 years or older on the casino floor.

How To Get There

If you’re arriving by plane, then Miccosukee Resort and Gaming is located just 17 miles west of Miami International Airport. A shuttle bus can be arranged from the airport by the resort for groups.

If arriving by car from Miami, take the 1-75N towards Naples and then take the L-28 exit which takes you directly onto the Miccosukee Reservation. Free parking is offered on site, or you can do valet parking from $20.

Public transport services do operate out of Miami, such as the 836 bus which takes you to Dolphin Station Park And Ride which is only ten minutes away from the casino.

Miccosukee Resort does offer an RV site in the Raccoon Parking Lot for a charge of $25.00 + tax per night.

🎰 Games at Miccosukee Resort

Miccosukee Resort and Gaming features over 1,800 slot machines, a high stakes Bingo Hall, and a 20-table poker room.

The fact that it squeezes so many slot machines into the 70,000 square footage shows just how tightly packed they are. As a comparison, The Horseshoe and Encore hotels in Las Vegas have a similar sized casino floor but only have around half the number of slots.

Walking around Miccosukee Resort casino, the slots are positioned side-by-side and back-to-back, with not much space in between. Most of the gaming cabinets are tall and thin, presumably to allow more in.

What this means is that the gaming experience isn’t as comfortable as I personally prefer. It felt very crowded and often I was elbow-to-elbow with other players.

However, in terms of variety, there was a really good range of slots from old traditional three-reel games to more modern slots like Dragon Link and Buffalo games.

There was two specific gaming areas for AGS slots and Bluberi Games. The AGS Hog Heaven Slot Zone is a separate 1,000 square foot room giving players exclusive access to new AGS titles before they hit the market. Games included Rakin’ Bacon, Rakin’ Bacon Deluxe, Long Bao Bao and Golden Blessings.

Meanwhile, the Bulberi slot area has around 25 slots featuring games such as Frogged Up, Double Flamin’ Link and Devil’s Lock.

The smoking gaming area is on the first floor and features over 100 slot games, the Embers Bar with bar-top games plus a patio area with stunning views of the Everglades.

If Poker is your game, then you will find daily games and tournaments in the designated 20-table poker room that is open 24/7. There are regular poker promotions offering guaranteed cash prizes ranging from $100 up to $5000 with special events offering up to $50K in prize money.

Meanwhile Bingo lovers can enjoy a weekly schedule of games from Wednesday to Sunday each week. All regular games have a guaranteed $1,000 jackpot but Saturdays and Sundays have additional jackpots up to $5,000.

One thing that is missing from Miccosukee Resort & Gaming is live table games. This is something that lets the resort down in terms of gaming.

High Limit Gaming

A high-limit slots area is available at Miccosukee Casino, if you enjoy betting with higher stakes.

This more exclusive gaming area has around 90 slots and offers bets up to $400 a spin if you have the budget to play at that level.

However, don’t be intimidated to go into the high-limit areas as you can spin from $5 on some games and it is often a quieter and more refined gaming experience.

I spent some time in here, particularly with the main casino floor being quite crowded and enjoyed the more peaceful environment.

🛏️ Accommodation at Miccosukee Resort

The hotel at Miccosukee Resort offers just over 300 rooms and suites with a range of different options available.

The basic rooms are the Deluxe King and Double Queen rooms and these are quite small but are decorated to a decent standard and are well-kept. Meanwhile, there’s a selection of suites which include a separate living area and a large jacuzzi bath in some cases.

I stayed in the Deluxe Double Queen which was actually really comfortable. My first impression was how immaculately clean it looked and although the décor wasn’t really my usual taste, it was well-presented.

The colours were the resorts signature white, red and orange, the carpet was patterned cream and brown and the furniture was dark wood. As well as the two queen beds, there was a bedside table, a unit for the TV with drawers, a table and two chairs and a wardrobe.

The bathroom was small but adequate with a large mirror and a shower over the bath, and it was also clean and well-maintained.

The room had all the usual amenities, hairdryer, iron/ironing board, an in-room safe, tea/coffee making facilities and a large TV. There was also good Wi-Fi service in the room too.

Overall, the room didn’t wow me with its design or features, but it was a really clean and comfortable and I had a really pleasant stay with a good nights sleep.

🛎️ Services and Facilities at Miccosukee Resort

Attractions & Entertainment

Miccosukee Resort & Gaming offers entertainment and attractions both in-house and close-by for guests.

If you enjoy live music and sports, then you can enjoy both at the Tempt Lounge. Live music takes place every Friday and Saturday and there is also a big screen to watch all the big games.

The venue also hosts various events such as sporting events like boxing and MMA, as well as music concerts and special celebration days such as American Indian Day and the Miccosukee Indian Arts and Crafts Festival.

Outside of the casino there is a wide range of activities, one of which is an airboat tour.

Here you can glide across the Everglades with a tour guide and explore a hammock-style camp that has been owned by the same family for more than 100 years. Tours take place daily 9am – 5pm and cost $25 for adults and $15 for children.

The Miccosukee Tribal Village is also close-by where you can learn all about the tribes heritage in the museum, enjoy tribal dancing and displays in the amphitheatre and visit the gift shop. The big attraction here is the Alligator shows, where members of the tribal demonstrate centuries old rituals including putting their hands in an Alligators open mouth! Admission to the village is $25 for adults and $15 for children.

If you love to play golf then the Miccosukee Golf and Country club is less than 20 minutes’ drive. It features three golf courses, a lighted practice area and a putting green as well as a grill kitchen which is open daily.

If you enjoy shopping, then the Miami International Mall and the Dolphin Mall in Sweetwater are both less than 15 minutes’ drive away.

Food & Drink

La Brisa is the main restaurant at Miccosukee Resort and Gaming, which offers Latin Fusion cuisine.

There is both an inside and outside seating area and the environment is relaxed but the food is exceptional. You’ll find a mix of American favourites but with lots of Latin and Asian twists. There is also an open kitchen, so you can see the chefs at work.

La Brisa is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and for brunch on weekends and there’s lots of drink specials on offer such as Mojito Mondays or Wine & Whiskey Wednesdays.

For even more casual eating, the B1 Grill is right beside the Bingo Hall and serves a range of hearty favourites such as burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, hot dogs and chicken wings.

Open 12noon till late Wednesday to Sunday, you can even use the mobile ordering service so you can enjoy your food as you play Bingo.

Max’s Grab & Go is a 24/7 snack bar serving sandwiches, snacks, desserts and drinks right in the hotel lobby.

The Tempt Bar is where to go if you want more of an up-scale drinks experience. Serving signature cocktails in a sophisticated setting, you can enjoy live music and DJ sets while taking advantage of drinks specials such as Lucky 7 Cocktails which are $7.77 each.

The highlight for me was the customer service. I found all of the staff, whether at the reception, in the casino or working in the bars and restaurants to be professional but also really friendly and warm too.

♿ Accessibility at Miccosukee Resort

Miccosukee Resort is fully accessible to wheelchair users. All of the main hotel lobby, casino floor and restaurants are on the ground floor and there are elevators up to the upper floors.

🎇 My Experience at Miccosukee Resort

From my point of view Miccosukee Resort & Gaming offers a unique casino experience and I enjoyed my visit there.

The location is key, it really makes the resort stand out, which can be a tough challenge when there are so many to choose from.

The highlight for me was the customer service. I found all of the staff, whether at the reception, in the casino or working in the bars and restaurants to be professional but also really friendly and warm too. It had a real family feel to it and guests were made to feel a part of it.

The casino itself wasn’t ideal for me. I love playing slots, so having almost 2,000 to choose from was excellent, but I didn’t enjoy the layout and tight space. However, the high-limit slots area was a good option.

I also enjoy playing table games and would have preferred that there was some roulette or blackjack options too.

In terms of food, La Brisa was delicious but I think it would benefit from another eatery such as a sports bar to give guests more options. I did enjoy my room though, despite me getting the most basic room, it was clean and comfortable.

Overall, I would recommend Miccosukee Resort and Gaming if you want something a little different and with beautiful tranquil surroundings.

Standout moment

Inside the resort, I would say the warm welcome I received from all the staff in the casino and hotel. Outside of the resort, the airboat tour was spectacular.

💭 My Verdict on Miccosukee Resort

Having recently visited both Seminole Hard Rock casino resorts in Hollywood and Tampa and been overwhelmed by huge casinos, high-tech attractions and a plethora of amenities, I wasn’t really sure how Miccosukee Resort would compare.

However, I was wrong to even try to compare them. Miccosukee Resort & Gaming is its own entity and has its own charm.

Ok, so they share the same state and the Hollywood resort is less than an hour away by car, but they attract and appeal to a different audience entirely.

Miccosukee Resort & Gaming of course has a casino and a decent sized one at that, but the appeal of the resort is more about its location, heritage and environment rather than spectacular gimmicks or razzmatazz.

With that in mind, if you want a casino with excellent customer service, a good range of slots, good comfortable hotel accommodation and tranquil surroundings where you can explore the Everglades and its beauty and culture, then Miccosukee Resort is a good option.
