March Concerts That Will Rock the East Coast Casino Scene

Over the past 30 years, casinos have popped up all across the East Coast, a term we’re using somewhat liberally to include anything east of the Mississippi River. And with that, entertainment has followed. States like FloridaConnecticut, and New Jersey have casinos with venues that now rival many traditional arenas out west in both production value and star power.

While our friends and colleagues in Las Vegas might think little matters east of Henderson, I’m taking it upon myself to share the best of casino entertainment on this side of the U.S.

Legacy rock icons, country stars, Motown royalty, and nationally touring comedians are all making stops this month at casinos across the East Coast.

Rod Stewart Shuffles Up the East Coast

On what is supposed to be his final concert tour, British rock legend Sir Rod Stewart will tear up the East Coast at several casinos in March.

After kicking off the month with two stops at the Seminole Hard Rock properties in Hollywood and Tampa, Stewart will start a run of dates during the month that will sweep him up the Eastern seaboard.

On March 7, the voice behind “Maggie May” and “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” will hit the Etess Arena inside Hard Rock Atlantic City. Following that, he will journey to Uncasville, Connecticut, on March 13 to perform at Mohegan Sun Casino Resort.

Hard Rock Casinos Set a Standard

The Seminole Hard Rock properties in Hollywood and Tampa host two of the region's strongest entertainment venues.

March brings a diverse mix of genres to the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood. Actor Hugh Jackman will demonstrate his song-and-dance abilities on March 6 with a Broadway-style performance, followed by spunky country superstar Miranda Lambert on March 12.

The legendary Diana Ross will appear on March 19, and comedian Martin Lawrence will make a stop on March 21. “Outlaw” country musician Eric Church will close out the month on March 27.

Over in Tampa, the city’s Seminole Hard Rock property has an Event Center that can also boast a robust lineup of events. The property recently hosted the sold-out LadyLuckHQ Birthday Weekend slots tournament and welcomes even more for March.

On March 11, country musician Charley Crockett takes the stage at the Event Center, while the iconic Wayne Newton appears on March 18.

Martin Lawrence will come back for another Florida show on March 22, and The Beach Boys will bring the California “sun and fun” on March 26.

All of these shows are 21+, and tickets are available through Ticketmaster or the Hard Rock website

Atlantic City Remains an Entertainment Heavyweight (WIP)

Atlantic City is also in, featuring a mixture of artists and tribute bands over March.

Borgata Hotel and Casino will welcome Scottish chanteuse Sheena Easton on March 6 and Seventies teen heartthrob Shaun Cassidy on March 14.

Over at Ocean Casino Resort, David Spade will perform his stand-up comedy on March 7 at Ovation Hall. Just three weeks later, the resort will host Motown legend Smokey Robinson on March 28.

Hard Rock Atlantic City hosts Pink Floyd tribute band Brit Floyd at Etess Arena on March 21.

Caesars Entertainment’s properties also bring major names to town. Hard rockers Mammoth perform on March 13 at Tropicana Atlantic City's showroom, while Jay Leno and Arsenio Hall appear together at Caesars Atlantic City on March 27.

Resorts Atlantic City rounds out the lineup with Almost Queen on March 7…and this is just a sampling!

Connecticut’s Casino Anchors Stay Busy

In the Northeast, Foxwoods Casino Resort will play host to a mix of classic rock and R&B.

The Dark Star Orchestra (a Grateful Dead tribute band) performs at the Premier Theater on March 7, while the double-barreled R&B attack of Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight will entertain crowds at the same venue on March 15. On March 21, classic rockers Cheap Trick will come to the Premier Theater as well.

The iconic Aughts band Switchfoot takes the Great Cedar Showroom stage on March 27. Tickets for all shows are available on the Foxwoods website

At the Mohegan Sun Casino nearby in Uncasville, a roster of artists and bands is set for its venues. Everclear will be in the Wolf’s Den on March 13 for a show, while rockers Three Days Grace follow them into the Mohegan Sun Arena on March 14.

Finesse Mitchell brings his comical stylings for a three-night run at Comix Comedy Club from March 19-21. ZZ Ward steps up to the mic with her unique musical stylings on March 28 at the Wolf’s Den to close out the month.

There are plenty of other diverse entertainment options at Mohegan Sun. Tickets for those and the events mentioned above can be found on their website

Additional Casino Stops Across the Southeast

The Casino at Dania Beach may not even try to match the firepower of the Seminole Hard Rock, but it has found a niche in bringing the best tribute bands to its stage.

Throughout this month, the casino will feature tribute acts for Electric Light Orchestra on March 13, Celine Dion on March 21, Fleetwood Mac on March 27, and finish off the month with an ABBA tribute on March 28. Tickets for these shows can be purchased at the casino's website

Moving up the eastern coastline to North Carolina, there are even more shows at Harrah’s Cherokee Event Center. Veteran country music singer Clay Walker will perform on March 13, while rockers Three Dog Night will venture to the stage on March 27.

This provides decent coverage of the U.S. East Coast, but it certainly isn’t comprehensive. Casinos.com will continue sharing major entertainment announcements across the region throughout the year.
