BetMGM has partnered with Awager, an Aristocrat company, to bring live-streamed, real slot machine gameplay to BetMGM and Borgata Online in New Jersey, the companies announced Aug. 13.
The launch gives players remote access to physical slot cabinets operating in regulated broadcast studios, marking one of the first large-scale efforts to stream authentic land-based slot machines directly to online casino players in real time.
At launch, the offering includes 50 cabinets and more than 30 game titles, including Aristocrat Gaming favorites Buffalo Ascension and Lightning Link, with players able to access the games now at BetMGM New Jersey.
The technology, developed by Awager over more than a decade, connects players to real slot cabinets housed in dedicated studio environments via 4K video, authentic machine audio and low-latency streaming, allowing every spin to reflect genuine land-based gameplay rather than a software simulation of it.
"Bringing land-based play online is at the heart of our mission to deliver a truly authentic casino experience straight to players' devices," said Superna Kalle, chief strategy officer at Aristocrat.
"We're incredibly proud to partner with BetMGM on this launch and continue expanding access to real slot machine play. Together, we're creating new ways for players to enjoy the games they love while preserving the authenticity and trust that make the land-based casino experience so compelling."
Rob Passerino, BetMGM's director of gaming, described the launch as the start of a broader collaboration: "The addition of Awager's live slots offering creates an exciting new way for our players to engage with slot machines digitally.
"This is just the beginning of our partnership, and we look forward to continuing to work together to explore new opportunities that further enhance the BetMGM online casino experience."
Awager currently operates studio locations across North America and Europe and says it plans to expand the format into other regulated markets over time.
The company operates exclusively in regulated jurisdictions, with compliance, responsible gaming and player protection built into its studio operations.
The Awager launch is the latest in a broader push by MGM to bring its physical Las Vegas properties into its online products.
In April 2025, MGM Resorts partnered with Playtech to open a live dealer studio directly on the MGM Grand casino floor, streaming table games such as roulette and blackjack and, later, the game show title Family Feud, to BetMGM's international players.
That studio focuses on live-dealer table games for an overseas audience; the new Awager partnership is a separate, slots-specific offering built for BetMGM and Borgata Online in the New Jersey online casino market, but it reflects the same underlying strategy of using live video to connect real Las Vegas gaming floors to online players.
