See Phil Hellmuth’s New Luxury Vegas Pad

LAS VEGAS – We, as a culture, have always had a fascination with going into celebrities' homes. We’ve had MTV Cribs, Architectural Digest, and now influencer Vegas Pauly C has brought the public into 17-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth’s new home overlooking the Las Vegas Strip.

I was interested to see what the décor would be as Hellmuth wears primarily a poker uniform consisting of all black with whatever company he’s repping highlighted on his hat. Currently, that’s BetRivers. I could easily see Phil as a Lego or action figure wearing gold glasses.

The condo cost a cool $2.8 million and is 4,900 square feet. He's living at the luxury high-rise Park Towers at 1 Hughes Center Drive close to the WSOP at the Horseshoe. Hellmuth bought it last December and it includes four bedrooms and five bathrooms. He has lived with his family in Palo Alto, California, since 1992 but has owned property in Vegas before.

Hellmuth’s sons Phillip and Nick are staying with him this summer as well and are "both playing $500 [events] " WSOP while Hellmuth is "playing $5,000."

Pauly let Phil lead us around this huge space along with Karina Jett, the real estate agent who brokered the deal. She also happens to be a poker player with live earnings of over $600,000.

All That Glitters is Gold

When first ushered into Phil’s foyer through black and gold accented doors with clear glass and what looks like blinds, it’s completely round with marble on the floor and had a gold light fixture. The foyer separates into three different hallways to sections of the condo.

It looked like a casino hotel suite that was a bit out of date but still nice enough with stunning views. Red carpet with a custom cream rug on top with matching red accent chairs. Two human-sized black decorative vases flanked on either end of the windows and gauzy white drapes pulled back to give a glimpse at the stunning views.  A fireplace completes the room.

Elaine Wynn originally owned this condo and designed the foyer. Hellmuth said he left the room “completely intact."

"I just love the way she designed it,” he said. “I’m not sure that my wife [Kathy] loved it but she put up with me not changing it.”

I felt like I could almost smell the space over the video, and it reminded me of my great-grandmother Margaret's condo in Newport Beach. It was the faint scent of sachets stored in drawers. I used to have nightmares about her long hallways, white walls in a space where time stood still.

However, my great-grandma didn’t have a tiny folding chair from Tiffany’s that belonged to Elaine Wynn. The legacy is pretty cool and deeply Vegas. The message on the back of the chair was “if they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring in a folding chair.”

Hellmuth led us to the study decorated mostly in wood décor from the 90s, inset bookcases, and elegantly plaid curtains that look straight out of the Wynn.

Where’s Your Toilet Closet?

Hellmuth led us into the primary bedroom with a connecting balcony where he sits to drink his morning coffee and get some sun. The views are calming in a city that often airs more on the chaotic side. The room is sparse with just a bed and minimal furniture.

Next is the bathroom (that he loves), adorned by even more gold accents even on the shower. He shows us “the Phil Hellmuth closet” which we don’t fully, see but I imagine it holds 20 track suits, black t-shirts with company logos, and black hats.

Hellmuth told Pauly that he wasn't entirely sure of how many bedrooms the condo had. "Phil doesn’t really get too involved in details," Pauly observed.

In the video, Hellmuth mentions that this was Elaine Wynn’s secondary residence. “Number two,” he says as he shows us the toilet and bidet.

I never need to see the toilet in someone’s house just for fun or to show me their décor. I have a friend who rates toilets in Vegas, which I’m ok with as long as he doesn’t send me pictures of said toilets.

He even shows off his wife’s bathroom, which is also trimmed in gold accents with a separate bathtub and standing shower.

Hellmuth took us down another long hallway to one of his son’s rooms. Multiple light fixtures are on the ceiling with inset wood bookcases. The bathroom looks like the cabinets have been updated as they’re in a soft grey color.

Views for Days

Back near the kitchen table, there's another larger balcony with a fireplace. The view showcases The LINQ, Venetian and the new Hard Rock under construction. “You can see the new gee-tar going up,” Pauly said.

Hellmuth said he likes to suntan out on his balcony. Of all the things I’ve ever thought about him, I never saw him as a person that suntanned.

As we are led back inside, Hellmuth shows off some Ghostwrite figurines placed on his dining table. He invested $250,000 in the company, and commented that a similar figure to one he owns just sold for $44,000.

Looking back on the tour, everything made sense. Hellmuth's gold glasses were reflected back at me in the gold fixtures around the condo, and there were collectable figurines instead of Legos.

Inside, just past the dining table, through the wall of windows is a perfect view of the Sphere.

“[It’s] most beautiful when it’s in planet mode,” Hellmuth commented.

Nutcase Milk!

It didn't surprise me in the slightest that Hellmuth admitted that he has "never cooked" during the home tour.

What did surprise me was the 16 black cans of Nutcase cashew "hydration milk" on his kitchen island. Hellmuth advises 44 companies including Nutcase, contributing an hour each month for each company.

Pauly tries one and exclaimed, “Wow, wow. I don’t bullshit Phil. It's absolutely delicious.”

Even though Pauly said that it has a "great aftertaste,” I still don’t want to try it. A friend offered me one at the WSOP last year and I never drank it.

Treasure Hunt

By the time I see the washer/dryer and the last bedroom, I'm starting to lose interest. That was until Hellmuth mentioned that when he moved in, a certain room in the back made him say “there’s gotta be some money in there, it’s Elaine Wynn’s place.” Unfortunately, that hope was dashed when he realized that “there’s nothing in there at all.”

That portion of the condo made me think of the bowels of a casino hotel where workers make their way to their jobs. So it made complete sense when Hellmuth added that this door is where “service people come in.”

The tour ends with us back in the kitchen, where Hellmuth drinks some more Nutcase.

“They like it when I drink on camera.” he said.

The views from the gate-guarded condo alone along with the security presence, pool, fitness center, spa, private wine cellar and resident theater all make it valuable. Granted, the HOA ranges from $3,500 to $6,100 per month for that luxury and privacy.

I want to see how it looks as Hellmuth fully settles in. The question is, will Elaine Wynn's legacy and dated furnishings still be in place, or will it be reborn a year from now?
