Carín León, Marc Anthony, and MANÁ Headline Mexican Independence Day Weekend in Vegas

No city celebrates holidays like Las Vegas. That will be the case once again in September when the city embraces Mexican Independence Day.

The bulk of the celebrations will be music performances, with more than 20 Latino performers in town this month. Combat sports fans can choose between boxing and wrestling, while comedy fans have a couple of comedians to choose from.

While most of the holiday activity will take place around the weekend of Sept. 11-13, but visitors can get an early start on the first day of the month.

Limited Music Engagements

The celebration begins on Sept. 1 when Carín León takes over Fontainebleau with festivities at the casino including pop-up taco and smoothie stands, parties at LIV Beach and Nightclub, a merch store and more. The installations at Fontainebleau will continue through Sept. 14.

León will also be performing at the Sphere during the Fontainebleau activation. He’ll be the first Latino artist to headline at the venue when he takes the stage for a limited engagement on Sept. 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, and 13.

Marc Anthony's residency returns at Fontainebleau on Sept. 11, 12, 13, 18, and 19, while Matute returns to The Venetian on Sept. 11 and 12 for their Disco Stereo Tour.

Marco Antonio Solís returns to Las Vegas for a new limited engagement at Dolby Live inside Park MGM on Sept. 11 and 12. His previous solo headline engagements in Las Vegas were at Caesars Palace and T-Mobile Arena, and he was the lead vocalist for Los Bukis during their 2024 residency at Dolby Live.

Big Mexican Independence Day Concerts

León's limited engagement at Sphere isn't the only big concert visitors in town for Mexican Independence Day can celebrate. There are others on the south-central part of the Vegas Strip.

MANÁ and Chuy Lizarraga will take the stage at T-Mobile Arena on Sept. 11 and 13, respectively. Palomazo Norteño and Alejandro Fernández are performing across the street at the MGM Grand on Sept. 13 and 15, respectively.

There will be about 20 more performers playing smaller theater shows up and down the Vegas Strip during the weekend.

Fluffy and Felipe Bring the Laughs

The entertainment coordinators at casinos know when to book resident performers to maximize ticket sales. That's the case once again as two very popular Mexican-American comedians return to Las Vegas.

Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias returns to the Cosmopolitan on Sept. 11 and 12 as part of his residency.

Felipe Esparza performs two nights at the MGM Grand as part of the "Aces of Comedy" series on Sept. 11 and 12.

Iglesias plays venues of all sizes around the country. The Chelsea inside the Cosmopolitan holds about 3,200 people, which makes this one of the more intimate venues he'll perform in.

Earlier this year, he performed in front of 70,000 in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium with good friend Jo Koy, who’s performing a week later at Caesars Palace on Sept. 19.

Wrestling, Boxing, or Both?

Combat sports fans have two very different events to choose from during the weekend. Of course, they can always do both since the events are on different days.

Las Vegas has a long history of hosting boxing cards on Mexican Independence Day weekend. This year will be no different when Mexican-American Ryan Garcia defends his WBC welterweight title against Conor Benn at T-Mobile Arena on Sept. 12. Doors open at 4 p.m., with action on the four-fight card kicking off at 5 p.m.

AAA Wrestling's Triplemanía returns to the U.S. for the first time since 1996 on Sept. 11. High ticket demand forced WWE, owners of AAA, to move the event from the Luxor Theater to the much larger MGM Grand Garden Arena.

There will be five televised matches. The main event of the night is the AAA Mega Championship match between champion Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano.
