LAS VEGAS 一 After more than 26 years of operation, Rampart Casino and the JW Marriott Las Vegas will officially rebrand as The Resort at Summerlin, returning the property to its original name when it first opened in 1999. The rebrand will take effect on January 1, 2026, and comes as part of a $75 million, multi-year renovation to elevate the resort’s overall guest experience.
Unlike most Las Vegas casino-resorts built around prioritizing gaming, the JW Marriott hotel on the property has long positioned itself as more of a resort destination with its tranquil design featuring waterfalls, koi ponds, and garden pathways throughout the resort.
That resort-focused identity has helped it to cater to both locals and visitors, offering a calmer alternative to the Strip’s casino-focused properties.
According to the news release, The Resort at Summerlin was always envisioned to offer a full resort experience with a casino simply being one component of that vision. The rebrand and overhaul of renovations signal a return to that original philosophy, helping the property compete against the many upscale off-Strip casino resorts in Las Vegas.
Led by FRANK Architecture and Interiors, the renovation refreshes the resort's Mediterranean-inspired design aesthetic with new design elements like grand archways and more open spaces. Guests will notice much more natural light throughout the casino and resort property as well.
“Over the past 18 months, we’ve completed a significant renovation designed to revitalize and refresh the property while elevating the overall guest experience,” said Michelle McHugh, Vice President and General Manager of The Resort at Summerlin. “This transformation represents a strategic investment in the future of the resort, continuing its evolution as a premier luxury destination in Las Vegas and strengthening its role as a welcoming hub for both the Summerlin community and visitors alike.
All 549 guestrooms and suites have been renovated and now offer 560 square feet of space, featuring residential-style furnishing, 65-inch smart TVs, and in-room coffee machines.
Out of all the rooms in the hotel, 98 rooms have Juliette walk-out balconies, and 11 guestrooms include full walk-out terraces, allowing guests to take in the resort’s waterfalls and koi ponds.
Design elements are meant to take inspiration from Las Vegas’s desert landscape, incorporating bold textures and metallic accents while still keeping up the previous modern luxury appeal.
Marriott has clarified that its branding and operations are associated solely with the hotel portion of the property and not the Rampart Casino, though both will operate collectively under The Resort at Summerlin name.
The renovations as part of the rebrand to The Resort at Summerlin extend well beyond updates to the rooms. The project also includes updates to the resort’s conference and meeting center, fitness center, and Spa Aquae. The spa now has new treatment rooms, guest waiting areas, and Hydra Lounge relaxation area and lap pool.
The casino floor has also undergone noticeable improvements. Guests will notice new carpeting and lighting to modernize the space while keeping it upscale. The property has also added new High Limit Rooms with a “sophisticated” bar experience and fast service.
More renovations are expected for The Resort at Summerlin in 2026, including an improved resort pool.
These updates help to position The Resort at Summerlin more competitively among other off strip resorts like Red Rock Casino & Resort, Green Valley Ranch, Durango Casino & Resort, and the neighboring Suncoastwhich sits next door. Many of these properties are constantly innovating and renovating to boost business.
Looking ahead to 2026, The Resort at Summerlin plans to add The Neighborhood Food Hall, a new dining concept offering a variety of cuisines and price points. Food halls have been becoming more popular with younger casino guests, providing dining options for all taste and social spaces that encourage longer stays. This is a great addition for a property that typically hosts an older customer base.
In 2025, the property also debuted several notable restaurant additions, including:
Rampart Casino also announced that Caesars Entertainment will be taking over operations of the sportsbook. The updated sportsbook will feature new betting technology, a 360-degree LED display above the sportsbook bar, and 20 self-service Caesars Sportsbook kiosks, providing access to betting options similar to those available on the Caesars Sportsbook mobile app.
Located approximately 20 minutes northwest of the Las Vegas Strip, The Resort at Summerlin caters to both tourists and locals seeking a resort-focused experience. It has close proximity to Summerlin’s golf courses and Red Rock Canyon’s recreation areas.
The JW Marriott Resort has 549 guestrooms and suites, along with 35 meeting rooms spanning more than 110,000 square feet. Rampart Casino spans a great 50,000 square feet with 1,400 slot machines and 32 table games. They also offer their own Rampart Rewards loyalty program.
