Cheap Eats and Drinks on the Vegas Strip: $3 Beer, $9.99 Burgers and More Deals

Despite the outrage over high prices in Las Vegas, there are still plenty of value options. Unfortunately, many of the best deals are away from the Strip, where most people like to stay.

Location matters more in Las Vegas than in most cities. The most recent Las Vegas Visitor Profile shows that 69% of visitors stayed in a Strip hotel last year. Only 7% stayed downtown, while 11% stayed in areas surrounding the main tourist corridor.

Since the average trip is four days and three nights, many visitors never leave the area where they’re staying. Traveling 20 minutes to save a few bucks on drinks or a meal isn’t always worth the time or money.

Finding deals on the  Strip takes a little work, but the savings can be significant. There are plenty of weekday happy hour specials, but there are also low prices hidden in plain sight. Here are some of the best deals for food and drinks on the Vegas Strip.

Horseshoe is Full of Deals

Horseshoe is connected to Paris Las Vegas and is home to the World Series of Poker. It’s also one of Caesars’ main value properties, and there are deals throughout the casino.

One of the best deals is the $19.99 all-you-can-eat brunch served daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu includes bacon and eggs, French toast, biscuits and gravy, brisket mac and cheese, salads, and more. Drinks cost extra, but there aren’t many $20 meals this large on the Strip.

Along with The LINQ, Horseshoe is one of the Caesars properties offering $5 beers at select bars, including the arcade on the lower level.

Caesars offers many specials and discounts, from $5 beer to spa and show discounts.

$9.99 Burgers at MGM Grand and New York-New York

TAP Sports Bar at MGM Grand offers a strong midday special for a sit-down meal.

From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, a burger and fries are only $9.99, and guests can add a beer for $4.99. For comparison, the same burger at TAP normally costs $23.

Nine Fine Irishmen at New York-New York also offers the same deal across Las Vegas Boulevard.

Families can also take advantage of a different TAP promotion. Kids eat free with the purchase of an adult meal.

$3 Beer and Cheap Eats at Casino Royale

Casino Royale has been a low-roller haven for years. Located between The Venetian and Harrah’s, it’s home to the Best Western hotel with no resort fee, along with Denny’s, Outback Steakhouse, and White Castle.

The most famous deals at Casino Royale are $3 bottled beer, $4 footlong hot dogs, and $5 cocktails. Most of the discount beers on the Strip are draft, so a cheap bottle is a treat.

That combination means guests can have two beers or one cocktail and a huge hot dog for $10 or less. Not bad for the Strip!

The casino no longer offers live dealer table games, but it still has slots and electronic table games. The players club also runs strong promotions such as "lose $20, get $20 back" for new members and a $20 free-play rebate after losing $100 for all members.

$3 Milkshakes at The LINQ

Las Vegas is already breaking heat records, despite it still being spring. That means it’s already time to start thinking of a nice, cool treat.

Milkshakes on the Strip can cost as much as $20 at a restaurant. They may be huge, photogenic, and filling, but that’s a lot for someone who just wants a quick, cool snack without alcohol.

Prices at the In-N-Out inside The LINQ Promenade are slightly higher than off-Strip locations, but are a fraction of the price compared with most quick-service restaurants on the Strip.

The milkshakes, made with real ice cream, cost about $3. It’s nothing fancy, just a solid shake for a few bucks.

More Deals at Miracle Mile Shops

A common rule on the Strip is that casino malls often have restaurants with better prices and more deals. Lower prices often bring visitors to the mall who might not normally shop at a casino.

Miracle Mile Shops connects to Planet Hollywood but is operated by a separate company. There are great deals and fair prices throughout the mall.

Blondies Sports Bar has a $5.99 weekday breakfast special, and La Salsa Cantina offers a $6.99 breakfast special. That’s roughly 30% of what you might pay for breakfast inside the casino. As usual with these deals, drinks cost extra.

Before visiting, check the mall’s online coupon book for savings. Deals include buy-one-get-one offers, free beers or margaritas with a food purchase, and even half-off clothing.

The coupon book also includes an all-you-can-drink special for $20 at Blondies and 10% off food or drinks at La Salsa Cantina.

Gift Shops: Look For A Sign!

Casino gift shops are often overpriced, but booze is an exception. Prices are reasonable for a casino, even though they’re still higher than at liquor or convenience stores off the Strip.

Many gift shops promote beer specials to entice guests to come inside. Wine and spirits are also often cheaper than ordering from a casino bar.

Ultimately, the booze is discounted, so guests don’t feel quite as bad paying three times as much for a bag of chips or candy. Stay focused if cheap booze is the goal.

Bonus Tip: Make Friends With A Local

Nearly 3 million people live in the Las Vegas metro area, including Las Vegas proper and surrounding areas such as Henderson and Summerlin. Locals often stick close to their neighborhoods because there are plenty of reasonably priced bars, restaurants, and casinos.

There’s a common misconception that locals never visit the Strip. A night out with a loved one or friends visiting town is a common reason locals head to the Strip. Casinos often try to attract them with special discounts.

There are plenty of deals available for locals, but they are sometimes easy to forget about when you're not a tourist.

Take note of local discounts even if you’re not a resident, since you never know when you’ll meet someone who lives here.

They might be your path to a half-price premium steak at the SAHARA or another locals' deal. You could also be the reason they decide to have a fun night on the Strip at a reasonable price.
