Catch Bill Burr, Maniscalco, and More Comedians in Vegas Before Summer Ends

The Las Vegas comedy calendar is sparse in August, but full of heavy hitters performing at venues smaller than they usually play. Several performers who normally play arenas and stadiums are booked into some of the city's smallest casino theaters this month, giving people a rare chance to see them up close.

We say it often, but one of the great things about Las Vegas residencies is the ability to see performers in comparatively small rooms. That's the case this month when multiple comedians who have played arenas and stadiums around the world perform in intimate casino theaters.

Bill Burr Returns To Park MGM 

Bill Burr takes the stage at the Dolby Live inside Park MGM on Aug. 1. The venue holds just over 5,000 people.

He has performed in front of 35,000 people at Fenway Park in his hometown of Boston and nearly 10,000 at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado when he recorded one of his six Netflix specials.

Burr hasn't been in Las Vegas since 2023, when he performed in the same venue. Between movies and a Broadway show, he's had a limited touring schedule for the past couple of years.

Las Vegas is one of 10 shows he's playing in the U.S. this year. He's mostly performing at outdoor comedy festivals for the rest of the year.

Wynn's Comedy Big Three: Amini, Maniscalco, and Peters

Wynn's residency lineup is doing a lot of heavy lifting this August, with three heavyweight names on the calendar.

Max Amini’s New Residency Continues at Wynn

Amini may not be a household name yet, but he has built a strong following both online and on stage. He has over 10 million Instagram followers and is one of the platform's most-watched comedians worldwide. He's also the first Iranian American artist to sell out major arenas like Madison Square Garden in New York and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

His Las Vegas debut at Wynn last year led to a quarterly residency where he'll perform at the 1,500-capacity Encore Theater on July 31 and Aug. 1.

His 2025 special, "Randomly Selected," was released for free on YouTube and has 18 million views. 

Four Shows With Sebastian Maniscalco

Sebastian Maniscalco's Wynn residency might be the most popular since Jerry Seinfeld at Caesars Palace. Sometimes it seems as though he never leaves Las Vegas.

He returns to Wynn on Aug. 7 and 8. As usual, he'll perform at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. each night. That’s four shows in two nights.

If it’s possible, I’d love to see Sebastian imitating  Marcello imitating Sebastian.

Russell Peters Is 'Wynning'

Russell Peters is another resident comedian who often performs at arenas on tour. This year, he's going old school with multiple shows at smaller comedy clubs around the country.

His tour conveniently wraps around his Wynn residency, which takes place Aug. 21 and 22.

Peters has stand-up specials on Netflix, Showtime, and Amazon Prime. Rolling Stone calls Peters one of the "50 Best Comics of All Time."

Two Nights With Ralph Barbosa at The Venetian

The August Las Vegas comedy calendar wraps with Ralph Barbosa performing two nights at the Venetian on Aug. 28 and 29.

It feels as though he's been one of the most popular up-and-coming comedians for the past few years since his HBO special in 2022. Barbosa has since had specials on Netflix and Hulu. In 2024, he was named one of Variety's "10 Comics to Watch." 

He's a laid-back guy who seems to be friends with every comedian who has a podcast, which may explain why he's always around.

While on the topic of comedy at the Venetian, shortly after his July appearance, the casino announced Brian Regan would return Nov. 14.

If a comedy show isn't your only reason for a trip this month, August also has a packed sports calendar with the WSOP Main Event, the Raiders' preseason football games, and championship boxing all happening in one month.
