LAS VEGAS – The new year has delivered an overwhelming surge of music news and updates for Las Vegas across nearly every major genre. The entertainment calendar for January itself is usually a little bit slower during the month, but that clearly hasn't stopped musicians across genres from locking in new tours and residency launches.
Earlier this month, we covered Bruno Mars’ world tour launch as he plans to take a break from his residency at Park MGM. With such high demand, he has added another show on April 11.
Here’s a look at the biggest January music news that you might want to make a trip to Vegas for in 2026.
Global K-pop boyband BTS is officially heading back to Las Vegas as part of what’s expected to be the largest global K-pop tour of all time. The Grammy-nominated South Korean boy band will perform at Allegiant Stadium on May 23, 24, and 26.
The tour will span 34 regions and 79 shows, with the three Las Vegas shows being some of the most anticipated stops. The production will feature a 360-degree stage, placing the performers at the center of the experience surrounded by audience on all sides.
These shows will be BTS’s first headlining performances since the 2021 “Permission to Dance” tour, which also included multiple Las Vegas dates. After the tour ended, the members of the band went on hiatus to complete a mandatory 18 months of Southern Korean military service.
ARMY Membership presale tickets will generally go up on Thursday, Jan. 22, and general ticket sales starting Saturday, Jan. 24 via Ticketmaster. Exact details on the times and dates of specific cities’ dates can be found on Weverse.
R&B superstar Mary J. Blige is set to kick off her first full Las Vegas Strip residency titled “Mary J. Blige: My Life, My Story” at Dolby Live at Park MGM in May. Her residency effectively gives the casino another major headliner following Bruno Mars’ break from his Dolby Live residency during his international tour.
The residency makes for a major career milestone for Blige following her stop at T-Mobile Arena during her “For My Fans” tour with Ne-Yo and Mario last February.
Shows are scheduled for May 1, 2, 6, 8, and 9, with additional dates on July 10, 11, 15, 17, and 18. Presales began Jan. 14, and general tickets went on sale on Jan. 16.
When it comes to nightlife in Las Vegas, electronic dance music (EDM) remains to be the dominating music genre even as we head into 2026.
Calvin Harris officially launched a two-year residency at Wynn Las Vegas, performing at both Encore Beach Club and XS Nightclub. Despite the ongoing renovations at XS Nightclub, the remaining nightclub shows ill be on Feb. 13, and Feb. 21. Once things warm up during the summer, Harris will perform at the Encore Beach Club for the remaining shows.
Known for chart-topping dance music hits like “One Kiss” with Dua Lipa, “Feel So Close,” and “We Found Love” with Rihanna, Harris remains one of the most influential names in the genre. This residency is a full circle moment for Harris, as he’s coming back to the same clubs that welcomed him for his first Las Vegas residency in 2011. Since then, he’s only grown as an artist, headlining at top nightclubs and day clubs at casinos across the Strip. He recently completed a 2024 residency at LIV Las Vegas and LIV Beach inside Fontainebleau.
Wynn sources indicate more dates may be added for him and their other artists like The Chainsmokers, Kaskade, and Deadmau5 throughout the summer.
On that note, LIV Las Vegas and LIV Beach unveiled its 2026 artist lineup this month, and the video is like something right out of a Backstreet Boys music video this time. The club will feature a host of returning headliners such as David Guetta, John Summit, Metro Boomin, and Knock2. The roster yet again reinforces Fontainebleau’s strategy of hosting top EDM and hip-hop artists to compete with the Wynn.
Legendary rock n’ roll singer James Taylor will perform two shows with his All-Star Band at The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan on May 9 and 10.
At 77, Taylor remains one of the best-selling artists of all time, with over 100 million records sold worldwide. He’s a five time Grammy winner and 2000 inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
General tickets went on sale on Jan 16. via Ticketmaster and Cosmopolitan’s website.
All is a bit more quiet on the country music front, but that doesn't mean that Las Vegas won't be hosting a variety of top honky-tonk artists throughout 2026.
Across the valley and off the Strip, Station Casinos revealed their plans to bring a popular San Diego-based country music bar to the off-strip Durango Casino.
The addition of Moonlight Flats is part of the North Expansion at the Durango, which began this week. The two-story venue will span a whopping 29,000-square-feet with a large stage, dance floor, and VIP booths. The arrival of the venue will help add a new country-focused entertainment option off the Strip.
There's likely to be no shortage of concert news for Las Vegas, and we're betting it all on even bigger ones coming this year. With so many major artists already on the calendar, which 2026 Vegas show are you most excited about so far?
