LAS VEGAS — After almost a decade without an international tour, Grammy Award-winning singer Bruno Mars has decided to embark on another tour across the world. In true high roller fashion, he's starting his tour off in Las Vegas in April.
Live Nation announced the dates for his international run, “The Romantic Tour,” which launches in Las Vegas on Friday, April 10 at Allegiant Stadium. MGM Resorts must literally have Bruno Mars in a chokehold, because the company itself and The Pinky Ring at Bellagio have sponsored all of his North American tour dates.
Taking on an international tour is a huge shift for Mars, who has spent the last few years dominating the Las Vegas trip with his residencies. He's performed over 100 shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM since December 2016, including 34 headlining shows with his Silk Sonic partner Anderson .Paak in 2022.
While there are no residency performances on the books for Las Vegas right now, his presence in Vegas still remains strong. The Pinky Ring at Bellagio has been said to be his own personal speakeasy, offering a live band, VIP-only seating, and Bruno Mars-themed cocktails. For context, the lounge is branded around him but not actually owned by him at all.
A close friend of mine used to be a bar apprentice at The Pinky Ring and told me that Mars would occasionally appear for surprise performances, which would always get the crowd excited. I even spotted him at the venue once, posted up with his own VIP table wearing a distinct white fuzzy hat. So it's safe to say his presence at the venue is hard to miss.
Anyone planning to visit Vegas in April should not be surprised if the Strip seems busier during the second weekend of April. Allegiant Stadium may be just off the Strip, but its proximity to the south end of the Strip and Mandalay Bay makes it easily accessible for casino guests. The venue has already proven to be a significant driver of non-gaming revenue for Nevada, so this is only going to add to it.
The Romantic Tour is Mars's first headlining stadium tour since 2017, which followed his 24K Magic World Tour. The 40-date tour will span across North America, Europe, and the UK with stops at major stadiums like MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, and even Wembley Stadium in London.
The tour supports Mars' upcoming solo album, “The Romantic,” set for release on February 27.
For the Las Vegas date and others in North America, he'll be bringing some special guest friends to the stage to support him. Anderson .Paak will accompany him for all the North American dates, performing a DJ set under his alter ego DJ .PeeWee. Select shows will feature RAYE, and Grammy winners Victoria Monét and Leon Thomas.
Given Mars’ track record, the show at Allegiant Stadium is most certainly to sell out. But Bruno Mars is no stranger to sold out crowds, selling out seven straight nights at the Tokyo Dome and 14 stadium shows across Brazil.
Pre-sale ticket sales will begin at noon on Wednesday, January 14 on BrunoMars.com, and general tickets will go on sale at noon on Thursday, January 15 on Ticketmaster.
