September Brings Different Kinds of Comedy to Vegas

The September comedy calendar is stacked all month. The lineup features many returning resident performers like Daniel Tosh and Gabriel Iglesias at The Cosmopolitan, as well as the duo of David Spade and Nikki Glaser at Caesars Palace.

There are also touring comedians and unique events, including a TV show reunion and a duo sharing the stage for the first time. Plus, there's an up-and-comer whose online popularity is translating into bigger shows around the country.

Hasan Hates Ronny, Ronny Hates Hasan 

Comedians Hasan Minhaj and Ronny Chieng will take the stage together at the Wynn as part of the HASAN HATES RONNY | RONNY HATES HASAN tour on Sept. 5 and 6. 

The duo is among the most popular comedians in the world with numerous Netflix specials and movie appearances, but they might be best known for their stints on "The Daily Show." 

During this show, they'll take the stage together and debate everything from the state of the world to each other's family situations. It might get heated on stage, but they’ve been best friends for years.

While this is part of an international tour, each show should have its own unique moments.

Mojo Brookzz Debuts at The Venetian

Mojo Brookzz is a Chicago-born stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and viral content creator who will perform at The Venetian on Sept. 19. He's technically not an up-and-comer, but he isn't yet a household name nationally like some of the comedians in Las Vegas this month.

Brookzz's first tour was in 2018. Since then, he's ascended to larger venues and sold out his 2024 Unhand Me Now Tour. He's opened for comedy greats like Martin Lawrence, Mike Epps, and Deon Cole. He's also appeared on MTV's "Wild 'N Out" and Tyler Perry's Netflix series "Miss Governor."

Between his TV appearances, tours, and online content, he has more than 2-3 million followers on all social media platforms and has amassed 35 million likes on TikTok. Last year, he made Variety's 10 Comics to Watch for 2025 list.

Brookzz performed in Las Vegas at Resorts World in May as part of Mike Epps' We Them Ones Comedy Tour. This is his first solo headlining show.

Jo Koy Moves to Caesars Palace

Jo Koy is no stranger to the stages in Las Vegas, having performed hundreds of shows in Sin City over his 30-year career. His appearance at Caesars Palace on Sept. 19 will be the first time performing at the casino.

Koy's popularity has exploded over the past decade, moving from smaller casino theaters at Wynn and Treasure Island to T-Mobile Arena in 2022 and 2024. He was the first stand-up comedian to take the stage at the arena.

He and longtime friend Gabriel Iglesias shared the stage at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles earlier this year, performing in front of 70,000 people. Iglesias is at The Cosmopolitan on Sept. 11 and 12.

Koy's return to a Las Vegas casino theater with fewer than 5,000 seats is a win for fans who prefer to see popular comedians in smaller venues.

Insecure: The 10th Anniversary Tour 

"Insecure": The 10th Anniversary Tour is playing in 13 cities across the country, with a stop at The Venetian on Sept. 25. While the show is a dramatic comedy, this isn't a traditional comedy event.

Star Issa Rae and showrunner Prentice Penny will be on the entire tour, quarterbacking the show, which will feel more like a podcast. Other stars from the show, Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis, and Natasha Rothwell, will rotate in on certain nights.

This kind of live podcast-style conversation has become more popular over the past few years. It's a treat for diehard fans who loved the show and still miss it.

Weird Al Is Bigger and Weirder

Weird Al Yankovic is bringing his Bigger and Weirder tour to MGM Grand on Sept. 18. The show will literally be bigger than the last time he performed in Las Vegas, a five-night limited engagement at The Venetian. This one-night show is at a venue with a capacity larger than all five of those Venetian nights combined.

This will be a true arena tour with all the spectacle fans should love. He'll have full production featuring a large video wall, an eight-piece band and multiple costume changes.

Unlike on recent tours, he'll be playing the hits like "Amish Paradise," "White & Nerdy" and "Fat." The nearly seven-foot-tall Puddles Pity Party, known for his surprisingly booming voice, is opening the show.
