OMNIA Dayclub Offers a Sober Way to Party During Wellness Month

The new Omnia Dayclub at Caesars Palace has been maintaining the usual Vegas pool-party atmosphere with DJs, bottle service, and a busy bar since opening in May. But the venue has been opting for a different vibe recently, with a Sober Morning Dance Party on select Sundays, offering people a new way to party without alcohol.

The same dance floor that's normally full of people dancing and drinking the day away is filled with yoga mats, coffee, and mocktails rather than cocktails. Vegas came together to work out, dance, drink coffee, swim in the pools, and experience a community that is focused on physical and mental self-care while still wanting to party.

The event, hosted by Etho Wellness Club, kicked off in August for the start of National Wellness Month. The month's focus comes from Live Love Spa, a B2B networking company for the spa, beauty, and wellness industries. Wellness Month encourages people to make small changes that can make their lives more joyful and leave them feeling better. Those changes can even be wellness activities in social spaces, like this event at Omnia, featuring sober alternatives for those who don’t want to sacrifice their well-being for a fun time.

Casinos.com chatted with Mikey Margolin, founder of Etho Wellness Club, about why this kind of sober socializing has been recently catching on with Vegas crowds.

Vegas has been leaning into creating different spaces and meanings for partying more than ever before. You can still have the bacchanalian weekends of drinking, gambling, and staying out all night, but there’s a growing scene for those who choose to party without making alcohol the center of it all.

A Sunday Morning Like No Other

The most recent Sober Morning Dance Party took place at Omnia Dayclub on August 2, in partnership with several health and fitness businesses, including Daybreaker, Love Lagree LV, Ritual Collective, and Morning Wood Kitchen.

The day started at 9 a.m. with yoga, followed by a sober dance party with a DJ. In the August heat, CO2 guns were in front of the stage to keep the crowd cool, and there was also an option to work out on paddleboards in the pool.

Drinks ranged from coffee to electrolyte drinks to mocktails. Attending the class also gave participants the opportunity to stick around to check out Chris Lake's performance at Omnia later that afternoon.

The experience of Vegas continues to evolve. Etho Wellness Club has held other wellness-inspired events at casino venues at Encore and The Strat, one of which is Sunset in the Sky, located on The Strat’s Observation Deck from 6-9 p.m. This includes yoga, a sound bath, breathwork, a community hour, and mocktails.

Margolin believes wellness events are gaining traction in Vegas as people seek new ways to socialize here.

“Vegas has always been incredible at bringing people together through entertainment, nightlife, and experiences,” he said. “But there are more people who still want that energy, music, and excitement without necessarily centering the experience around alcohol or traditional nightlife.”

Margolin added that the wellness shift is happening all over the country, but Vegas is "especially ready for it.”

Cultivating a Wellness Community

Some people come to Vegas with a plan to stay sober, leading many casino restaurants and bars to adapt to suit those needs. Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace and Wakuda at The Palazzo are just two Vegas restaurants offering a variety of mocktails.

Vanderpump has its Garden Goddess mocktail with mint, matcha, pineapple juice, lemon, and aquafaba (the liquid from cooking chickpeas). Wakuda has its Strawberry Crush mocktail with Lyre’s Italian Orange, Lychee, Fresh Strawberry, muddled lime, and orange slices.

Creating community is a big part of why these wellness events are successful. Daybreaker has created a global sober dance movement conceived in Brooklyn, and Ritual Collective, which was held after yoga, is all about an immersive performance and “social club blending.” They also see themselves as the “Soulful Side of Sin City.”

“Community is a huge part of feeling well, and so many people are yearning for real connection and a sense of belonging,” Margolin told Casinos.com. “When you combine wellness with community, it becomes a lot more sustainable and enjoyable.”

Morning Wood Kitchen brought a brunch-rave sensibility, mixing food with live DJ music. Broken Coffee brought the drinks and has multiple locations in Vegas. Finally, Love Lagree LV, a Vegas Pilates Megaformer studio, brought in the instructors.

This isn't a one-time event, either. There will be another wellness party on Sept. 20 at Omnia, from 9 a.m. to noon, again featuring Etho Wellness Club, Daybreaker, and Ritual Collective. Attendees can book both the yoga and dance portions for $49, or just the dance party for $29, so there’s no need for FOMO if you missed the previous events.
