Taylor Swift is odds-on to reference boyfriend Travis Kelce or pal Sabrina Carpenter in her new album "The Life of a Showgirl," which bookmakers expect to break records.
Taylor Swift fans' Christmases have come all at once following her latest news.
The pop megastar has announced her 12th studio album, "The Life of a Showgirl," following several hints and Easter eggs, most of which were worked out by her loyal Swifties.
Taylor is not known for her podcast appearances, but she used one to announce her brand-new record.
Swift appeared on the New Heights podcast, which is co-hosted by her NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother and former professional American footballer Jason Kelce.
On the pod, Taylor gave plenty more hints about her exciting new record and insisted there will be 12 tracks on the new album and no more.
She said, "There are no other songs coming. This is 12. There’s not a 13th ... there are not other songs coming. This is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time."
But who will get a mention on the hotly anticipated record?

Matty Healy | 12/1 | 7.7% | +1200 |
After Travis gave his girlfriend a helping hand to announce her new album, Taylor is just 8/11 to repay the favor by referencing Kelce on "The Life of a Showgirl."
A Travis mention would also be an early birthday present for the NFL star, who will turn 36 two days after The Life of a Showgirl's October 3rd release.
Should the Chiefs star be referenced, it could be one of many NFL nods on the record.
Swift has become a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs in the past two seasons, and it's 4/1 she mentions the team in some of her lyrics, 5/1 she references the NFL, and 7/1 she speaks about her second home, Arrowhead, where the Chiefs play their matches.
What's more, Travis' brother Jason is a 3/1 shot to receive a shout-out, and Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who Swift has become pals with, is 7/2.
The "Style" hitmaker is also good friends with Sabrina Carpenter, who is the only other singer to feature on the upcoming 12-track album.
Swift and Sabrina will perform the album's titular track, and it's just 4/5 she mentions Carpenter by name, and 2/1 she references “Espresso,” the name of one of Carpenter's hit singles. What's more, Taylor is known to be close with her parents, Scott and Andrea Swift (11/10).
The pop star recently told how she moved in with her dad after he underwent quintuple bypass surgery and experienced "parent-child reversal," nursing him amid his recovery.
Swift's showgirl-inspired album has sent fan speculation into overdrive about what, or who, might feature in the lyrics of her new tunes.
Some believe the 1933 music-comedy movie “Gold Diggers of 1933,” a film about showgirls, may have been one of the inspirations behind the new record.
The movie is 1/1 to receive a mention in “The Life of a Showgirl,” and one of the most renowned showgirls of all time isn't far behind in the market.
Dita Von Teese is just 6/4 to receive a shout-out after Taylor performed the burlesque icon's famous martini glass dance alongside her in the pop star's Bejeweled music video.
Afterwards, Dita admitted working with Taylor on the video was "the best experience."
Speaking on the Allison Interviews podcast with Allison Kugel, she said of Swift, "She’s really, like, a kind girl. She knew everything about what I do."

Orange appears to be a popular theme for Swift's new album, as does mint green.
Fans have been busy trying to work out the color references, and one Swiftie wrote on X: "The color scheme is copper oxidizing because a showgirl is on a pedestal for the world and over time, in the public eye, they lose their shine… the weathering from being the target for the world’s misogyny."
The supporter posted a picture of the Statue of Liberty, which has faded from bronze to green over the years, and the New York monument is 5/2 to receive a mention in "The Life of a Showgirl."
What's more, some of those who Swift has feuded with could feature if she has any diss tracks on the record.
US President Donald Trump is 6/1 to be referenced, and the album could even feature a shout-out to some of her exes: Harry Styles (8/1) and Matty Healy (12/1).
Swift is no stranger to winning major honors for her work and she will no doubt be confident "The Life of a Showgirl" will do well at the likes of the Grammy Awards, American Music Awards (AMAs), MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), and Billboard Music Awards (BMAs).

3 | 13/8 | 38.1% | +163 |
2 | 2/1 | 33.3% | +200 |

She will miss the late August deadline for the 2026 Grammy Awards because her new record won't drop until October, but her previous record, The Tortured Poets Department, didn't win any album accolades at this year's Grammys anyway.
The LP was also empty-handed at the AMAs, where it was nominated for Album of the Year and Favorite Pop Album, and while Swift won seven VMAs last year, there wasn't a Best Album category at the ceremony.
Swift's 11th studio album would've no doubt been nominated for the prize, and the category has since been reintroduced for 2025's spectacle.
"The Tortured Poets Department" did win one BMA accolade - Top Billboard 200 Album.
But it didn't fare as well at the four US music awards ceremonies as its predecessor, Midnights.
The 2022 album scooped two Grammys, for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, and Album of the Year at the VMAs.
But it didn't win anything at the BMAs and AMAs.
Travis has revealed "The Life of a Showgirl" is "a lot more upbeat" than The Tortured Poets Department, saying on the podcast, "It’s a lot more like fun, pop, like excitement. I think it’s a complete 180 from a lot of the songs on Tortured Poets for sure."
Swift nodded to him and said, "Life is more upbeat."
As a result, fans are eagerly anticipating a return to Taylor's "Red" or "1989" album styles, which could coincide with some major music awards.
"1989" won Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys, and "Red" received an Album of the Year Grammy nod but lost out to Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories."
However, "Red" did scoop Top Album and Top Country Album at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards.
It's a 6/4 favorite that "The Life of a Showgirl" scoops four or more album prizes at the Grammys, AMAs, VMAs, and BMAs combined, but it's a 5/1 longshot for the record to be left empty-handed.
If the record does fail to land any major music prizes, it may still be a record-breaker.
In April 2024, The Tortured Poets Department became Spotify's most streamed album in a single day with a mammoth 313.7 million streams, breaking the previous record, which was set by none other than Taylor.
Odds On 'The Life of a Showgirl' Becoming Spotify's Most Streamed Album in a Single Day | |||
|---|---|---|---|
Outcome | Fractional Odds | Implied Probability | American Odds |
Yes | 2/7 | 77.8% | -350 |
No | 7/2 | 22.2% | +350 |
She holds the top three entries after Midnights previously held the record with more than 184.6 million streams in a single day, and before that 1989 (Taylor's Version) occupied the top spot with more than 176.1 million streams in one day.
"The Life of a Showgirl" is just 2/7 to break the record, and it could be one of many.
