Detroit’s three commercial casinos recorded combined revenue from slots and table games of $106 million in July, a slight 0.3% decline from last year’s figure of $106.3 million.
The figures released by the Michigan Gaming Control Board show that even though revenue declined year-on-year, it was up significantly, however, on the revenue recorded in June 2025, rising from $100.4 million, for a rise of 5.6%.
Motorcity Casino, which has a 30% market share, was the only one of the three to buck the downward trend in July. It generated table game and slot revenue of $31.6 million, up 1.2% from the $31.2 million figure for last July.

According to the report, the three venues paid a combined $8.6 million in gaming taxes to the state in July 2025 and $12.6 million in other payments to the City of Detroit.
Two men have been sentenced for their roles in an illegal gambling operation tied to a Michigan business called Spin to Win.
Samir Naim Musharbash and Naim Samir Musharbash pleaded guilty back in April to one felony count of gambling operations in violation of state law, according to the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB).
The two men were sentenced to 24 months of probation and ordered to pay state costs, fines, and fees, and were also given 180 days in jail, though the sentence was suspended. All items seized during the investigation, including 17 slot-style machines, computer equipment, and nearly $8,000 in cash, were forfeited.
The investigation began after authorities executed a search warrant at Spin to Win, at an address in Jackson, in October 2021. The Michigan Department of Attorney General, the Blackman Township Department of Public Safety, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department collaborated on the case.
“This case highlights the importance of coordinated law enforcement efforts to shut down illegal gambling operations that undermine the integrity of Michigan’s gaming laws. We remain committed to protecting Michigan residents by enforcing regulations that ensure all gaming is fair, legal, and authorized,” said the MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams.
In the wake of this case, the MGCB has urged Michigan residents to only gamble with licensed and regulated operators to avoid legal risks and ensure a safe gaming environment.
