Hard Rock Casino recently announced it would be donating $100,000 at its annual Day of Giving on November 25. Last year, it donated $50,000 across five non-profit organizations, and this year it will be giving an additional $100,000 to a single non-profit.
Additionally, the City Council has recently approved a block of apartments near the Rivers City Casino Portsmouth, as the city plans to construct an entertainment district around the casino, which is also currently building a new hotel.
In June, the Caesars Virginia casino opened its Pantheon, its new entertainment and event center, which added an additional 50,000 square feet to the venue, and welcomed performers to the 2,500-seat showroom.
The latest report from the Virginia Lottery showed that revenue increased year over year at all three casinos, with two seeing double-digit rises.
