Rhode Island Casinos Earn $53.5 million in October

Rhode Island’s two casinos generated $53.5 million in revenue for October, up from the previous year’s total of $51.2 million and representing a year-on-year increase of 4.5%.

The figures, published by the Rhode Island Lottery, revealed that of the combined revenue, video lottery terminals (VLTs) accounted for $43.9 million, up 6.2% year-on-year from $41.4 million. In contrast, table games revenue declined last month, recording $9.6 million, a 2.9% year-on-year decrease from $9.9 million.

As Rhode Island’s gambling sector continues to grow, Bally’s Corporation, a casino-entertainment group headquartered in Rhode Island, reported third-quarter revenue of $663.7 million, a 5.4% increase compared to the previous year, which reported $632.5 million. Bally’s casino sector, which also hosts two casinos in Rhode Island, had a promising Q3, with the segment growing 12.1% to $396.1 million.

The state’s gambling revenue also rebounded during the 2025 fiscal year, according to the Rhode Island Office of the Auditor General. The report showed that the Rhode Island Lottery transferred $433.6 million to the state’s general fund, up by $7.2 million compared to the previous fiscal year.

Bally’s Twin River Leads the Way in October

Of the Ocean State’s two casinos, Bally’s Twin River recorded the highest revenue last month, up 3.6% year-on-year from $39.3 million to $40.7 million. Table games for the casino generated $7.9 million, a slight increase of 1.9% from $7.8 million, while VLTs were up 4% year-on-year, rising from $31.5 million to $32.8 million.

Bally’s Tiverton also generated positive revenue for October, reporting the highest revenue increase of the two, with revenue up 7.4% year-on-year, rising from $12 million to $12.8 million. Table games for the casino declined drastically year-on-year, dropping from $2.1 million to $1.7 million, a drop of 20.4%. In comparison, VLTs increased in October, rising from $9.9 million to $11.2 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 13.3%.

Bally’s Posts Positive Q3 Earnings for its Casino Sector

Bally’s casino and resort segment hit $396.1 million in revenue in the third quarter, up 12.1% from $124.3 million. Adjusted EBITDAR for the sector also rose 7.4% year-on-year to $107.9 million. Bally’s attributes the growth in revenue to its merger with casino operator The Queen Casino & Entertainment, which resulted in Bally’s acquiring four regional properties.

Bally’s North America Interactive segment also experienced a positive quarter, with revenue up 13.1% to $49.9 million. This was attributed to Rhode Island’s growth in online sports betting, with Bally’s citing strong performance in the sector from the state.

Rhode Island Reports Gambling Rebound for FY25

On top of Bally’s reporting strong revenue growth from Rhode Island's sports betting sector, the Office of the Auditor General noted in its annual report that the Ocean State’s gaming revenue had rebounded from the previous fiscal year, mainly driven by mobile sports betting.

For the 2025 fiscal year, which ended June 30, the state’s regulator had transferred $433.6 million to the state’s general fund, up $7.2 million from 2024 when the state transferred only $426.4 million. However, the figure was slightly down compared to the 2023 figure of $434 million.

VLT revenue from the two casinos accounted for 70.8% of the overall revenue, generating $313.6 million, a minor decline of 0.6% compared to 2024. The Auditor report noted that iGaming revenue was the reason for this year’s rebound. Launched in 2024, it provided a net profit of $20.8 million for the general fund.
