In other news, Senator Polistinia has announced plans to draft legislation to renew the Municipal Stabilization and Recovery Act, which, if passed, would grant the authority of Atlantic City to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for another 10 years.
The latest report from the New Jersey Attorney General shows that of the nine casinos in the state, only two saw year-on-year revenue declines.
The Borgata Hotel Casino saw the highest revenue increase year-on-year, rising in the double digits by 28.2% from $53.4 million to $68.5 million. This was also the highest recorded revenue in the state.
Additionally, four other casinos saw revenue increase by double digits, including the Ocean Casino Resort, which saw a 20% increase from $32.9 million to $39.4 million, and the Harrah’s Atlantic City Casino, which rose 11% from $15.8 million to $17.5 million.

Set to expire in December 2025, the Municipal Stabilization and Recovery Act (MSRA) was enacted in 2016 to grant the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (NJDCA) authority over Atlantic City.
Senator Polistina announced in October that he would be working with the Office of Legislative Services to draft legislation that would enable that authority to continue for another 10 years.
Sen Polistina said, “Since 2016, the State of New Jersey has been an active partner with the City in managing its operations and addressing significant debt issues. With increased gaming competition from New York City and the ongoing desire by North Jersey legislators for gaming in North Jersey, it’s more important than ever that the State and City continue working together for the benefit of all residents.”
Additionally, he has introduced two bills that would help the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority retain a higher share of casino revenue in the state to reinvest into redevelopment funds and local businesses.
