Las Vegas Has Hit the Jackpot with Another Super Bowl in 2029

After months of speculation over when Las Vegas would host another Super Bowl, the NFL finally announced that football’s biggest game will return to the city in 2029.

During the league's annual owners’ meeting in Phoenix, Las Vegas was named host for Super Bowl LXIII after review from the NFL's Fan Engagement and Major Events Committee. The locations of the next three Super Bowls are now all officially locked in.

The news was accompanied by a press conference right in front of Allegiant Stadium, featuring Clark County Commission Chair Michael Naft and Las Vegas Raiders Senior President and General Counsel Justin Carley.

“We’re excited to bring the Super Bowl back to Las Vegas and provide our fans another incredible experience in one of America’s greatest sport and entertainment destinations,” wrote NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “We look forward to working alongside the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the Raiders and the community to deliver an even greater experience this time around.”

Vegas Proved Itself to Be a Good Host in 2024

This will be the second time the Big Game is held at the 65,000-seat Allegiant Stadium. Super Bowl LVIII saw the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the San Francisco 49ers back in 2024, but the impact of the game rippled far beyond Allegiant’s field.

Las Vegas officials have been in talks to bring the Super Bowl back for nearly a year, driven by the strong economic impact the first game had on the city.

The Super Bowl attracted 330,000 visitors and generated more than $1 billion in business revenue. It also created thousands of jobs in the process. According to Forbes, visitors to Vegas for the Super Bowl spent an average of $2,660, double the $1,260 spent by a typical visitor.

“Our first Super Bowl showcased the unique energy and scale only this destination can offer, bringing together world-class sports, entertainment, and hospitality in one place,” said Steve Hill, president and CEO of the LVCVA, in a press release. “Las Vegas was built for moments like this, and we look forward to delivering another exceptional experience for fans in 2029.”

Raiders owner Mark Davis also expressed his excitement about the event returning to the arena his team calls home.

“It’s a testament to the Raiders, the LVCVA, civic leaders, the community, and the NFL working together as one,” Davis said in a statement. “Super Bowl LVIII set a high bar, and for Super Bowl LXIII, we are committed to raising it even further.”

What Else is Coming in 2029

Before Las Vegas gets its turn, Super Bowl LXI will be held next year in Los Angeles, followed by Super Bowl LXII in 2028 in Atlanta.

There is currently no confirmed date for the Super Bowl in 2029, as the league is considering an 18-game season instead of the usual 17. That could push the date back into February, further than usual. According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, that's part of the reason that there is no set date for Atlanta’s Super Bowl in 2028.

Leading up to the game, the NFL will once again bring back events such as NFL Honors, Super Bowl Opening Night, and Super Bowl Experience. The league's hospitality partner, On Location, will offer exclusive packages for those who want guaranteed seats and a premium viewing experience.

And the NFL isn't overlooking local businesses, either. The league will bring back NFL Source, its program that partners with small and underrepresented businesses to support Super Bowl production.
