Seminole Hard Rock Tampa wrapped up its 2025 rock calendar in November with a blistering performance by Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening, which thrilled the Event Center with Led Zeppelin classics from years gone by. The show made for a great end to the year at what has become one of the “must-hit” venues for artists and bands across genres in the entertainment industry.

Hard Rock Tampa couldn’t have picked a better act to close out their 2025 rock season as Jason Bonham and his band celebrated the 50th anniversary of the classic double album Physical Graffiti during their Nov. 25 show.

Jason Bonham Brings Fifty Years of Physical Graffiti

Bonham, the son of the late legendary Led Zeppelin drummer mighty John "Bonzo" Bonham, put together an incredible array of musicians for the performance: vocalist James Dylan, lead guitarist Jimmy Sakurai, bassist/mandolinist Dorian Heartsong, and rhythm guitarist/keyboardist Alex Howland. Together, they truly brought the spirit of the band to the adoring fans over the span of a two-hour show.

The show took on the material from the famous 1975 album, bringing to life the excellence of Led Zeppelin. Dylan’s vocals and Sakurai’s guitar work were eerily similar to Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, the same men they were paying homage to. It presented a truly memorable experience for both casual and diehard fans of Zeppelin.

Throughout the night, Bonham himself provided some excellent anecdotes as the show played, including a story about why the song “Houses of the Holy” didn’t appear on the album of the same name.

“It came down to 'Houses of the Holy' and 'Dancing Days to be the final track," he told the crowd. "There was a vote…it went 3-1 for “Dancing Days.' I never have been able to find out one thing, though…who was that one vote?”

Bonham also wasn’t shy about addressing both his own and his father’s struggles with alcohol. He realized after trying alcohol and drugs that he had to go "stone cold sober" to be his best self.

In a heartfelt reflection, Bonham recognized the fans for supporting the project:

“When I started this fifteen years ago (as the Jason Bonham Led Zeppelin Experience), I never believed that I would still be doing it today,” Bonham confessed, getting a bit choked up at the same time. “I want to thank you fans for continuing to remember the band.”

Intimate Surroundings, Excellent Sound

The Led Zeppelin Evening show makes for a great example of why the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa’s Event Center is such a draw among touring artists.

Holding a maximum of 2,000 people, the room offers an intimate concert space that many other casino music venues can't offer. This allows artists and bands to get close to the fans and receive immediate feedback on how the show is going.

I've even been to some shows at the Event Center where an overexuberant audience member is shouting a particular song request at the performer, and the performer can actually hear what is being said. But the Tampa audiences are typically welcoming and ready for a show.

For a multi-purpose venue, the Event Center has excellent acoustics. While it was not created with the intent of being a “concert hall," it works well as one. The sound staff at the Event Center deserve major kudos for this because I have never been to a show there that didn't sound outstanding.

Finally, the staff consistently creates a friendly, safe atmosphere for those in attendance. There is plenty of room to roam for the audience outside the Event Center, and the staff is quick to address audience needs at both the merch lines and concessions.

Add all these things together, and it makes for a pleasant and entertaining evening for all, regardless of what entertainment you see on a given evening.

The intimacy of the venue allowed fans at the show at Hard Rock Event Center to give back to Bonham and his band. Every track from Physical Graffiti was performed, often turning into a sing-along. By the time the band wrapped up the night with renditions of “Whole Lotta Love” and “Rock and Roll," it had turned into a celebration of the rock and roll greatness that was Led Zeppelin.

For 2025, the Hard Rock Event Center may be closed for rock and roll, but it will return in even finer form in January 2026.  And if the Led Zeppelin Evening show was any indication of what's to come next year, fans will continue to rock on at even more memorable shows.
