Fontainebleau Debuts New High-Limit Slots Room With $150,000 Giveaway

LAS VEGAS – Fontainebleau is the latest Las Vegas casino to open a new high-limit slots room. The renovation and expansion of the high-limit slot room includes a variety of games with jackpots as high as $5 million.

The new room will feature a variety of high-limit slots from Aristocrat, including three $5 million jackpot Dragon Link games and seven $1 million jackpot games featuring Phoenix Linkix Link, Lightning 10 Year Storm and Monopoly Big Board Bucks. The company took over Monopoly slots last year, and Big Board Bucks is one of the most fun games in casinos right now.

 Fontainebleau will celebrate the grand opening of the new space with the High Limit Slots Grand Reveal Giveaway on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 6:15 p.m. The contest is open to Fontainebleau Rewards members, who can earn one "base" ticket for every 5,000 Play Points from floor-wide slot play, from Friday, Sept. 4 at 12:01 a.m. until Sept. 12 at 3 p.m.

Winners will share $150,000 in free slot credits. The grand prize winner will take home $50,000 of those free slot credits. Casino content creator Vegas Matt will be on hand for the celebration. 

Senior Vice President of Slot Marketing and Operations Kevin Sweet said upgrades such as the new slot room are "another reason our guests and Rewards members see [Fontainebleau] as the premier destination for gaming in Las Vegas."

Fontainebleau is Pushing The Limit

High-limit slots are the hottest trend in Las Vegas casinos. No fewer than five casinos have upgraded or added high-limit slot rooms since 2025. That number jumps to 15 casinos when we go back to 2022.

Fontainebleau is pushing the limit even higher with this expansion. Not only are the jackpots larger, but so is the overall percentage of high-limit games.

The casino has a total of 1,325 slot machines. After expanding the space, 135 of those machines are in the high-limit room, meaning just over 10% of the slots at Fontainebleau are tucked away there.

Larger casinos like The Venetian and Palazzo may have more high-limit slots overall, but they're spread across two properties. Fontainebleau has a higher concentration of high-limit games, underscoring the luxury angle the casino has pushed since opening.

As Vegas Matt noted in the video above, the new high-limit slot room is now connected to the high-limit table games lounge.

The new high-limit room follows changes made to the main casino floor earlier this summer. First, the Fontainebleau Rewards counter moved to a new space near the high-limit table games room. After that was completed, some slot machines and table games swapped positions on the floor.

Vegas' High-Limit Slot Pivot Is the Hottest Trend in Gambling

The pivot to high-limit slots in Las Vegas started about five years ago. Between new rooms and upgrades, more than a dozen casinos have been making their pitch to attract big spenders.

While Las Vegas seems ahead of the curve with trends, it's very much a copycat town. Remember when every Strip casino seemingly had a poker room? Now there are fewer than 10.

These high-limit upgrades have been successful, and casino operators continuously tout the results on quarterly earnings calls. Many of the new rooms are designed more like private clubs than a room full of slots, with seating areas, bars, and, of course, slot machines.

High-limit slots have moved beyond high rollers. Players aren't only going to luxury properties like Bellagio, The Venetian, and Wynn to play these games.

Slot content creators like Vegas Matt are popular because they hit handpay jackpots. Players throughout Las Vegas and around the country love to see the big wins, and they want their own. 

The easiest way to feel that same rush is to place larger wagers, and that's exactly what the high-limit slot rooms are built for.

That popularity has moved beyond the luxury casinos on the Vegas Strip. Plaza Hotel and Casino just opened a high-limit slot room downtown, and its downtown neighbor, Golden Gate, which ditched table games last year, will open one in a couple of weeks.

Station Casinos alone has upgraded or added high-limit slot rooms at Durango, Green Valley Ranch, Red Rock, and more over the past few years.

Like most trends, there’s no end in sight… until there is. For the time being, players are enjoying the chance at jackpots of all sizes in private high-limit rooms throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
