Caesars Palace Quietly Opens Temporary Poker Room

LAS VEGAS (Casinos.com) -- Caesars Palace quietly opened a small temporary poker room on Friday. Unlike the new Planet Hollywood poker room, which opened with a bang, there was no major announcement, no grand opening — and as of Saturday morning, the Caesars Palace website still hadn’t been updated. Just a simple post on X on Friday night.

Following the trend of Las Vegas poker rooms at the Venetian and Planet Hollywood moving off the casino floor, the new eight-table poker room is open 24 hours every day and located in the Appian Way shopping area near the statue of David. A few additional tables for tournaments are set up next to the old poker room in the sportsbook.

Sneak Peek at Caesars Palace Poker Pop-Up

While there are rumors of the space expanding, the company hasn’t confirmed this or shared any plans for the future of poker at Caesars Palace.

Noted drone pilot Chris Holmes couldn’t bring his UAV into Caesars Palace, but he did do a handheld fly-through.

Here are some additional photos captured by world-record setting casino gambler John Mehaffey.

Caesars Palace has been without a poker room since it closed last June, when the casino repurposed the space for slot machines while renovating the high-limit room. While the high-limit slot room reopened earlier this year, the casino has been without poker for nearly a year.

Daily Low-Stakes Tournament Action

Similar to the Planet Hollywood poker room, there will be four daily no-limit hold ’em tournaments. The big difference is higher buy-ins for each tournament.

The 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. tournaments have a $120 buy-in with a $1,000 guarantee.

The 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. tournaments have a $160 buy-in with a $2,000 guarantee.

There are still fewer than 20 poker rooms with the addition of Caesars Palace and Planet Hollywood this month. Sahara’s poker room closed late last year.
