Vegas Casinos Line Up to Support Flavor Flav’s Party for U.S. Women’s Hockey Team

After declining an invitation from President Donald Trump, the U.S. women’s hockey team found a surprise host in Flavor Flav for its Olympic victory party. The celebration offer generated social media hype, prompting major names in Vegas’s casino and entertainment industry to jump on the bandwagon.

The rapper and Public Enemy founder invited the gold medalists to celebrate in Las Vegas after their 2-1 overtime win over Canada secured them a third Olympic gold medal.

What began as a post on X quickly turned into a train of offers from major casino operators, entertainment brands, and airlines in Vegas and beyond. The team later accepted the invitation after an Instagram post from Flavor Flav confirmed that plans were moving forward.

The official Las Vegas X account publicly welcomed the champions for a celebration and tagged MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment, and Harrah's to get them in on the party.

White House Celebration Out, Flavor Flav Casino Party In

Flavor Flav, born William Drayton Jr., extended the Vegas invite after the women's team declined one from Trump to celebrate at the White House during the State of the Union next Tuesday.

In a statement to the Associated Press, the team said it was “sincerely grateful” for the invitation but cited “previously scheduled academic and professional commitments” that prevented participation.

Trump extended the same offer to the men's team via phone after they won their gold medal on Tuesday, and several of the players immediately accepted. Trump joked that he would “probably be impeached” if he did not invite the women's team as well, which drew controversy online.

Shortly after the team declined the White House invitation, Flavor Flav published a post on X inviting the gold medalists to celebrate in Las Vegas. The post took on a life of its own, triggering a wave of responses from brands and companies eager to join in. The rapper’s team later formalized the offer by sending a direct email invitation to host the athletes.

Casinos Join the Conversation

Several Las Vegas casino operators wasted no time chiming in to join the exchange and be a part of the celebration.

“Celebrating champions is our kind of thing. Count us in for whatever you need,” commented MGM Resorts International.

Caesars Entertainment also added that they’d like to help, in hopes of getting a “proper celly in the Celebration Capital of the World.”

Other casinos like Palms Casino Resort and Resorts World Las Vegas looked to roll out the red carpet for the athletes by providing suites, free meals, dining, and spa treatments.

“Over-the-top suites, check. Next-level dining, check. Iconic rooftop views, check. A celebration worthy of champions, check. Only thing we don't have? The gold medal," Palms replied on Instagram. "Bring the gold. We'll bring the party. See you in Vegas."

It wasn't just casinos that weighed in – a myriad of companies commented about how they could help with Flavor Flav’s party. StubHub jumped in to see about free show tickets for the team, while Alaska Airlines hinted at helping out with airfare by replying, “Let's talk.”

Though the partnership may seem unexpected, Flavor Flav was the official “hype man” for the U.S. bobsleigh and skeleton teams at the 2026 Winter Games. He also sponsored the U.S. women’s water polo team during the 2024 Paris Olympics.
