Usher and Chris Brown, Foo Fighters and iHeartRadio Lead a Loaded September in Vegas

September and Labor Day weekend come with mixed emotions. This is the unofficial end of summer for many.

How does Las Vegas deal with the end of summer? Parties! Lots of them.

Labor Day weekend is one of the busiest of the year in Vegas, as tourists look for one last time to let loose before getting back to regular life. The dayclubs and nightclubs have some of the most popular DJs booked for the three-day getaway, then slow down and close for the season in a couple of months. 

Venues of all sizes will be packed all month with plenty of performers in town for Mexican Independence Day celebrations from Thursday, Sept. 10, through Sunday, Sept. 13.

Once again, September highlights the diversity of Las Vegas entertainment, with Mexican performers, popular residencies, a music festival, and major stadium and arena tours all taking the stage.

Usher and Chris Brown Bring R&B Tour to Las Vegas for Three Nights

One of the biggest summer tours is stopping in Las Vegas for three nights. Usher Raymond and Chris Brown's R&B tour is playing Allegiant Stadium on Sept. 5, 6, and 18.

Neither artist is a stranger to Las Vegas. Usher completed his Park MGM residency in 2023 before he performed at halftime of the Super Bowl in 2024. Brown has been headlining concerts in Las Vegas since 2015 and even had a residency at Drai's inside the Cromwell (now the Vanderpump Hotel).

The concerts open with R&B stars Mario, Tank, and Eric Bellinger. In addition to the two superstars performing, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Future, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, and Method Man have all made surprise appearances.

The duo is tight-lipped about who will join the shows, so you never know who will pop up before they hit the stage.

Sammy Hagar Returns to Park MGM

Sammy Hagar's The Best of All Worlds residency returns to Dolby Live at Park MGM on Sept. 18, 19, 23, 25 and 26. The band, featuring Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Michael Anthony and 15-time Grammy winner Joe Satriani, shreds in this show that plays to just over 5,000 people each night.

Many Las Vegas residencies are underplays, and this is no different. A similar concert was playing arenas and amphitheaters for as many as 20,000.

The residency is heavy on Van Halen and Hagar's solo hits but also includes some Montrose classics.

If you want to pregame before the Sept. 23 show, head to Cabo Wabo at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood for the new happy hour from 2 to 5 p.m. Even though Hagar sold Cabo Wabo tequila, Hagar still has ownership and operating rights for the restaurants.

iHeartRadio Music Festival Takes Over T-Mobile Arena For Two Nights

The iHeartRadio Music Festival is a dizzying array of performers from all genres inside T-Mobile Arena on Sept. 18 and 19. This is the perfect concert for Gen Z or anyone with a short attention span. Performers are only on stage for 20 to 30 minutes, playing just the hits everyone wants to hear.

Night one features BTS returning to Vegas for a quick appearance after selling out four nights at Allegiant Stadium. Weezer, Kenny Chesney, Goo Goo Dolls, and Zara Lawson are also performing.

The second night is stacked with Snoop Dogg, Muse, Lainey Wilson, Benson Boone, Ciara, K-pop group Le Sserafim, Smashing Pumpkins, and Major Lazer.

There Goes My Hero At Allegiant Stadium

The Foo Fighters will return to Las Vegas for the first time since playing two nights at Park MGM in 2021. Their Take Cover Tour with Queens of the Stone Age makes a stop at Allegiant Stadium on Sept. 26.

This is a normal stadium concert with full production, but it's significant because the Foo Fighters will be playing in front of 10 times as many people as they did the last time they were in Las Vegas. It's a reminder of how special some of the limited engagements can be for fans.

I'll never forget the Foo Fighters show at Park MGM or the time I saw Queens of the Stone Age at the Boulevard Pool at the Cosmopolitan. Both nights were magical in their own way.
