LAS VEGAS — The Plaza Hotel & Casino is doubling down on its status as the sole Downtown Las Vegas casino with a non-smoking area by adding live table games.
After a brief closure from January 5-9, the Plaza’s designated non-smoking casino has officially reopened with some visible changes compared to how it looked previously. Visitors will notice signage promoting the addition of live table games expected to arrive before the end of Janauary, according to a Plaza staff member.
According to X posts from Vital Vegas and Vegas Advantage, the area will be reconfigured to offer blackjack, single-zero roulette, and baccarat.
The addition of baccarat is a highlight, since this will be the first baccarat table to arrive at the property. And what a joy it is to see live single-zero roulette, am I right?
The space may have been cleared to make room for the tables, but the casino has not gutted the entire non-smoking slot area. The slot count is reportedly being trimmed to approximately 40 machines, with bubble craps and crapless craps still remaining.
The non-smoking area originally debuted as “Brian Christopher Slots at the Plaza,” a smoke-free room named after the popular slot influencer who only would play slots at non-smoking casinos. The room was geared specifically toward influencers wanting to stream their play and the popular slot streamer’s fan base. However, online speculation suggests the "all-slot" model may not have been high enough to justify the square footage and branding of the area.
Brian Christopher ended the relationship with the Plaza in May 2025 but he and the casino seem to remain friends after the breakup, as he'll be back May 21–24 for the 10th anniversary celebration of his BCSlots brand. The non-smoking area still houses one of his branded slots as well.
For players who already gravitate to the Plaza for its low table minimums, the addition of smoke-free blackjack, roulette, and baccarat could make the casino even more appealing. By introducing high-demand table games like baccarat and single-zero roulette into a non-smoking environment, the Plaza can test whether the "clean air" draw is more effective for high-value table players compared to the clearly ineffective influencer branding route.
