TAMPA, Fla. — Every casino regular walks through the doors with the same hope -- today could be the day. For one slot player at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, July 25 was exactly that.

A guest identified as Maher O. turned a day at the reels into one of the most profitable runs in the property’s 20-year history, racking up 389 jackpots and nearly $2 million in winnings.

An Astonishing Streak

Over several hours, Maher moved between some of the casino’s most popular games -- Panda Magic Dragon Link, Golden Century Dragon Link, and Lock It Link. The highlights included a $170,000 hit on Lock It Link, $99,350 on Panda Magic, and two six-figure Golden Century payouts worth $115,000 and $143,000.

By the end of the day, Maher’s jackpot tally totaled $1,827,160.80. (We cannot forget the 80 cents!)

“Stories like this show just how exciting and rewarding a visit to Seminole Hard Rock Tampa can be,” said Joseph Wagner, the casino’s vice president and assistant general manager. “This guest’s incredible day is certainly unique, and it’s always thrilling to see someone have such an unforgettable experience.”

Records and Near Misses

Surprisingly, Maher didn’t break the house record for most jackpots in a day. In 2024, a player won 465 jackpots of $1,200 or more. But Maher’s total payout set a new single-day winnings record at the property.

The Seminole Hard Rock Tampa -- named “Luckiest Casino in the U.S.” by Casinos.com -- is on track to smash last year’s records. Through July, it has already awarded 537,855 jackpots of at least $1,200, totaling more than $1.6 billion in payouts. That includes 256 jackpots over $100,000, 30 of which came from players betting less than $5.

Last Year’s Milestones

In 2024, the property crossed the $2 billion mark in jackpots on Dec. 11, when player Richard B. hit a Dollar Storm Caribbean Gold progressive for $1,680. That win also earned him a $100,000 Mercedes AMG GLE 53 SUV.

The Tampa property, a sister to Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, offers 5,000 slot machines, 168 table games, and a 46-table poker room -- and clearly no shortage of headline-making payouts.
