OMNIA Dayclub Seeking Approval for Motorcycle Jump Over Caesars Palace Fountains

OMNIA Dayclub at Caesars Palace is looking to literally rev up the engines for its opening weekend, with a motorcycle jump over the property’s iconic fountains on the Las Vegas Strip.

According to public filings, club owner Tao Group Hospitality has requested a permit from the county to temporarily close a portion of the sidewalk outside Caesars Palace to stage the jump safely on May 16.

The stunt would be part of OMNIA Dayclub's grand opening, which falls during Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) weekend in Las Vegas. The event will already bring tons of people to town to also attend EDC Week partnered events, including all of OMNIA Dayclub’s events that weekend.

Permit for Fountain Jump Submitted, Still Pending Approval

Paperwork filed with the Clark County Commission outlines a “professionally coordinated motorcycle jump” over the Caesars Palace fountains. If approved, the jump would take place around 2 p.m. PT, likely coinciding with the main headliner’s set.

Tao Group has requested an extension of its existing sidewalk closure, which is already in place for the construction of the venue’s new marquee. The full closure would be from noon to 4 p.m., with American Medical Response (AMR) personnel and LVMPD officers in the area to redirect pedestrians around the affected area via Caesars Palace’s driveway.

As of publication, the permit is still awaiting approval, and there is no confirmation of who will perform the jump. Tao Group Hospitality did not respond to a request for comment on the permit by publication time.

The opening weekend is already shaping up to be packed with some major headliners in the dance music scene, including Fisher on Friday, RÜFÜS DU SOL on Saturday, and Martin Garrix on Sunday. RÜFÜS DU SOL, in particular, performs internationally and doesn’t always frequent Las Vegas unless it’s a special occasion. Their last Las Vegas appearance was at XS Nightclub at Encore on New Year's Eve 2025.

The club is still under construction, but recent social media footage shows it nearing completion ahead of its mid-May opening. Spanning a total of 46,000 square feet, the new venue will connect to the iconic OMNIA Nightclub at Caesars Palace via a bridge.

A Familiar Stunt on the Las Vegas Strip

While the proposed jump would make for quite the show, it wouldn’t be the first time the Caesars Palace fountains have been the setting for a motorcycle jump.

Evel Knievel attempted the jump on New Year’s Eve back in 1967 but crashed on landing, suffering serious injuries to his pelvis, femur, hip, wrist, and both ankles. Despite the serious injuries, the daredevil recovered.

Since then, Evel’s son, Robbie Knievel, successfully completed the jump in 1989. In more recent years, Travis Pastrana also recreated it in 2018. Though it may be a difficult stunt to land, it is very much possible.

Beyond Caesars Palace, Las Vegas casinos have seen many other high-profile motorcycle stunts over the years, many of them involving Robbie Knievel. He jumped across 30 limousines at the Tropicana in 1998, cleared a 130-foot gap between the Jockey Club towers on the Strip in 1999, and later made a 200-foot jump in front of the Mirage volcano on New Year’s Eve 2008.
