Nevada Gaming Revenue Down 2.3% as Visitor Numbers Continue to Drop in September

Nevada Gaming Revenue Down 2.3% as Visitor Numbers Continue to Drop in September

Nevada’s casinos generated $1.28 billion in revenues (gaming win) in September, a 2.26% decline year-over-year compared to the $1.31 billion earned in September 2024. According the the report published by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Clark County casinos, which include Las Vegas, saw a year-on-year decline of 2.89%, from $1.13 billion last year to $1.09 billion this past September. 

Las Vegas Strip Seeing the Biggest Dip

Of the six areas that make up Clark County, casinos in three jurisdictions saw revenue declines. The Las Vegas Strip (Las Vegas Boulevard) saw the biggest decline (-5.48%), from $727 million to $687 million in September 2024 and 2025, respectively. Casinos in Downtown Las Vegas earned $89 million, compared to $91 million last September, recording a 1.97% year-on-year drop. 

Other Areas Showing Positive Change

While generating revenues in smaller amounts overall, Mesquite casinos saw a year-on-year increase of 6.33%, generating a gaming win of $15 million in September. Laughlin casinos earned $40 million, showing a 5.76% increase year-on-year. Boulder Strip is the third jurisdiction in terms of absolute revenues, recording $83 million in September, up 3.60% compared to $80 million earned in September 2024.

Elsewhere in Nevada

Outside of the Las Vegas area, Washoe County saw a 2.33% increase in year-on-year revenues, generating $100 million in gaming win. South Lake Tahoe casinos earned $23.5 million, up nearly 10% year-over-year. Elko County saw a decline of 7.28% with revenues of $31.5 million. Casinos in the Carson Valley area earned $11.4 million (+1.94%), and other casinos across the state earned $18.1 million, up 4.93% year-over-year. 

Airport Numbers Show Visitor Decline Continues

The decline in gambling revenues for casinos corresponds to the overall decline Las Vegas is seeing this summer. In September, Harry Reid International Airport saw 4.45 million visitors, 6.4% less than the 4.75 million passengers who traveled through the airport during September 2024. Through September, 41.5 million passengers traveled through the airport in 2025, nearly 5% less than the corresponding period the year prior. Domestic and local travel fell by 6.1% and 13.5%, respectively.
