Fans of YouTuber MrBeast shelled out $1,000 each to attend the “MrBeast Experience” at Resorts World Las Vegas, a three-day event beginning Sunday, April 13 and ending on Tuesday, April 15. But guests soon realized the experience wasn’t what they were expecting, leading many outraged and demanding refunds from MrBeast and the resort.
The MrBeast experience was first announced via a press released in late January, and advertised a wide range of attractions for fans who wanted an immersive experience.
Participants were told that each visitor would receive a mystery bag containing exclusive MrBeast merchandise, with one lucky winner earning a $10,000 voucher that could be redeemed for cash at the resort. Promotional materials also advertised “on-site activations” including “exclusive menu items and streams of the best of MrBeast, themed beverages, and more.”
Instead, many participants found that nothing of note was happening on the property. Some waited up to two days for their special package to arrive, only to be disappointed with the contents.
“I was told to wait in my room for two days for a package to come, so I legit spent two days in my room for a package to come, and it was a box of chocolates,” guest Theresa Metta, who came from Arizona to attend the MrBeast Experience, told reporters. “It had kids’ shorts, an extra small shirt, a hat, and a medium shirt. If you go to MrBeast’s store to their merchandise right now, all this stuff is on clearance for $9. We were told we’d get exclusive merch. Obviously, that’s not the case.”
Other participants have taken to social media to say that their “mystery bag” contained a selection of Feastables chocolate bars and t-shirts in various sizes.
Guests also said that resort employees told them that many of the “on-site activations” hadn’t been set up for the event, including the themed drinks and other menu items. Some participants also were angry that there were no photo opportunities or meet-and-greet events with MrBeast – whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson – or his team, though it doesn’t appear such encounters were advertised as a part of the experience by Resorts World.
Regardless, guests paid well above market rates for their rooms, which media outlets have estimated at about $400 for the dates of the experience. The frustrations with the event and its cost boiled over in a confrontation with Resorts World CEO Alex Dixon on the casino floor.
“I’m starting to think this is all fake,” one woman, who came with her daughter, said to Dixon in a video posted to X. “Can you give me one little tiny signature saying [Donaldson] approved this?”
Donaldson acknowledged that he was aware of the promotion on X, though he issued an apology to a fan who reached out to complain about the experience.
“This definitely isn’t the experience we hoped they’d deliver,” MrBeast wrote. “My team’s already on it—I’d love to personally make it up to you and anyone else by inviting everybody affected to tour my actual studio! Can’t wait to meet you all and my team is reaching out to everyone.”
In addition, some attendees have reported that they are receiving full refunds from Resorts World for the MrBeast Experience.
