Missouri Authorities Bust $9.5M Gambling Ring

As Missouri’s legitimate riverboat casinos report increasing revenue in July, Missouri authorities have arrested nine people in Southwest Missouri for operating an illegal gambling ring, which allegedly laundered over $9.5 million.

In addition to operating in Southwest Missouri, the operation reached other states such as Colorado, Georgia, New York, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and Washington. The businesses were registered as adult arcades but ran illegal chance games and slot machines.

As a result, authorities charged eight of the nine individuals with conspiracy to commit money laundering. All nine were charged with at least one count of wire fraud, along with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to operate an illegal gambling business, and operating an illegal gambling business.
