LAS VEGAS -- Fans of MGM Resorts casinos in Las Vegas can enjoy high-roller treatment without gambling. Late last year, MGM quietly introduced a special program for big spenders at their resorts who may not gamble.
Fountain Club by MGM is a private, invite-only program considered a side tier for select guests. There is no membership fee, and guests cannot apply to join.
The program targets luxury travelers who spend $10,000 or more during a weekend on high-end suites, fine dining, shows, and special events such as the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix. These guests generate significant non-gaming revenue for MGM Resorts properties, but often don't gamble enough to qualify as traditional high rollers.
Even though its target is low rollers or those who don’t gamble, this reddit thread insinuates that memberships are also being sent to MGM Rewards members who are Platinum or higher. Despite sharing a similar name, Fountain Club by MGM is not affiliated with MGM’s Formula 1 Bellagio Fountain Club.
MGM has shared few details about Fountain Club perks or invitation criteria. The Fountain Club invitation reads:
“As an invited member of Fountain Club by MGM, you now have access to an exclusive suite of elevated privileges designed to enhance every moment of your stay.
Your membership card unlocks a collection of rare experiences across MGM Resorts’ most iconic destinations in Las Vegas — from private dining opportunities and hidden cocktail lounges to behind-the-scenes access at our world-class entertainment venues.”
Selected members received a welcome package that included a membership card resembling an American Express Platinum card.
According to MGM, Members receive benefits familiar to top-tier casino rewards players, including:
Fountain Club members may also be able to secure last-minute hotel and restaurant reservations during busy weekends, access that may be typically out of reach even to guests with top-tier MGM Rewards status.
One of the most valuable perks may be having a dedicated Fountain Club concierge team. As technology replaces many personal interactions, direct access to an actual human can significantly improve the guest experience.
A non-gambler can earn MGM Rewards Platinum status by spending $50,000 on suites, dining, and other eligible purchases, based on the current earning rate of four tier credits per dollar. However, that status does not guarantee upgrades or priority access like the Fountain Club does.
MGM Resorts continues to emphasize luxury non-gaming offerings. In 2024, 73.9% of Las Vegas Strip casino revenue came from nongaming spending, including hotel rooms at 34% and dining at 18.5%. Gambling accounted for just 26.1% of total revenue in this part of Las Vegas.
During earnings calls over the past year, the company has highlighted strong performance at its luxury properties, including Aria, Bellagio, and The Cosmopolitan.
CEO Bill Hornbuckle cited rising demand for live entertainment and luxury travel in the company's most recent earnings call, adding that the luxury market segment continues to show strength.
Securing reservations at high-demand MGM restaurants such as Carbone can be difficult for average guests, even upper-tier rewards members. But Fountain Club caters to luxury-focused travelers who expect elevated access and service without participating in traditional casino rewards programs.
