Las Vegas is planning an even more explosive celebration than usual all summer for America's 250th birthday. There will be free fireworks shows at multiple casinos on eight consecutive Saturdays, beginning at 9 p.m. from June 6 through July 25.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) is touting this as the "largest summer fireworks show in the nation."
The weekly, eight-minute synchronized Las Vegas fireworks shows will take place on the Las Vegas Strip and downtown. These shows will be designed and produced by Fireworks by Grucci, with fireworks also featured on the Sphere's Exosphere.
While fireworks are the showstoppers, the Las Vegas celebration will be even bigger. Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, said it will be a "summer celebration only Vegas can deliver."
“Las Vegas is always a hot ticket for summer travel, and this year, the celebrations will reach new heights," Hill wrote in a media release. "We’re marking America’s 250th anniversary with fireworks lighting up the skyline across eight consecutive Saturdays. There’s never been a better time to pack for Vegas.”
Since Independence Day lands on a Saturday, there will be an extra-large July 4 fireworks show. Here are the fireworks launch points this summer:
June 6: Caesars Palace, Treasure Island, and The Venetian
June 13: MGM Grand, Aria and Planet Hollywood
June 20: Plaza, Binion’s, and Fremont Street Experience parking garages
June 27: Resorts World, Fontainebleau and The STRAT
July 4: Nine-rooftop synchronized spectacular at Aria, Caesars Palace, Fontainebleau, MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, Resorts World, The STRAT, The Venetian, and Treasure Island
July 11: MGM Grand, Aria, and Planet Hollywood
July 18: Resorts World, Fontainebleau, and The STRAT
July 25: Caesars Palace, Treasure Island, and The Venetian
The fireworks shows will be synchronized to music broadcast on KOMP 92.3 FM, 97.1 FM The Point, and 98.9 HANK FM.
The Independence Day fireworks spectacular on July 4 will feature nine Strip launch points.
There are usually more July 4 fireworks shows throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Those should be announced shortly.
Before the first fireworks even launch, the LVCVA is taking the summer campaign on the road. The tourism board is also launching a new marketing campaign called "Pack For Vegas" to encourage summer travel.
There will be pop-up activations in L.A. County, San Diego, and the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. On May 7, Las Vegas will offer the first 100 cars at each event $100 in gas. Drivers will also enjoy photo opportunities with showgirls and enter for a chance to win a two-night stay in Las Vegas.
Visitors planning ahead can browse the LVCVA's website, which features all Las Vegas casino summer sales, concerts, dayclubs, and other events.
