The biggest loser in November was the Harrah’s Joliet Casino, which saw a 18% decline in revenue, from $10.2 million to $8.4 million.

Other double-digit losses were recorded by the Rivers Casino, which generated the highest revenue in the state, and saw revenue decline year-on-year from $43.4 million to $37.5 million, and the Bally’s Chicago Casino, which saw the same 13.4% decline from $9.7 million to $8.4 million.

Bally’s Poker Room and Gaming Floor Revealed

Ahead of its opening in September 2026, renderings of the future River West Casino have been revealed, following their inclusion in the casino's New York City proposal.

The $1.7 billion proposal includes a 500-room hotel, a 3,400-slot casino, a 3,000-seat theater, and a public park, along with a rooftop pool, bar, and restaurants.

While its current temporary casino, Bally’s Chicago, saw disappointing year-over-year results in November, the opening of its permanent venue, featuring dedicated baccarat and poker rooms, is expected to boost the venue's earnings next year.

My love for gambling and casinos started early when my grandad handed me a video poker machine as a kid, sparking a lifelong fascination with the game. I grew up watching Celebrity Poker religiously and that turned into my organizing March Madness bracket tournaments all throughout elementary and high school—making every March a high-stakes competition among friends before I was even old enough to place a real bet.
