For the first time since Sphere Las Vegas opened in 2023, a woman will headline the state-of-the-art venue. Gwen Stefani and her band No Doubt will reunite for a six-show residency in summer 2026, joining the all-male ranks of Sphere headliners like U2, The Eagles, Dead & Company, and recent additions Metallica.

According to a Friday morning announcement on the band’s Instagram, No Doubt will reunite with Stefani for a six-show run at the Sphere. The 18,600-seat venue’s 2025 calendar is already packed with acts like The Eagles, the Backstreet Boys, and EDM star Illenium, with No Doubt’s run slated to follow in May 2026.

The appearance of Stefani on the stage of Sphere will mark the first time a female artist will take to its stage. It is also continuing a “throwback” in terms of concerts staged by Sphere. No Doubt broke onto the scene at roughly the same time in the mid-Nineties as the Backstreet Boys, rekindling a sense of nostalgia that hasn’t been seen on the charts in nearly 30 years.

In announcing the residency, Stefani said the futuristic venue offered her band a chance to merge nostalgia and innovation.

“The opportunity to create a show at Sphere excites me in a new way,” Stefani said. “The venue is unique and modern and it opens up a whole new visual palette for us. Doing it with No Doubt feels like going back in time to relive our history – while creating something new in a way we never could have imagined.”

From Ska to Punk-Pop Superstardom

Formed in the mid-1980s, No Doubt blended ska and skater punk into a bright, brash sound that helped define the SoCal music scene. With Stefani on vocals, Tony Kanal on bass and keyboards, Tom Dumont on guitar, and Adrian Young on drums, their 1995 breakthrough album Tragic Kingdom turned them into global stars, led by Stefani’s unmistakable voice and style.

No Doubt would earn two Grammys and top the charts with songs like “Don’t Speak” and “Just a Girl,” but there were troubles on the horizon. Stefani would eventually become more interested in her solo career, which gave the music world such tunes as “Hollaback Girl” and “The Sweet Escape.” No Doubt would move in fits and starts over the next decade, taking a couple of lengthy hiatuses. The first would come in 2008, and a second would follow in 2013 before the band dissolved in 2015.

Through it all, Stefani has remained an icon in music and fashion. She has continued her creative partnership with husband and country star Blake Shelton. But No Doubt hasn’t left her, and in 2024, the band would reunite for a sizzling performance at Coachella.

The Coachella shows – and the fans’ reaction to those appearances – more than likely brought about the deal with Sphere for 2026, where Stefani and No Doubt will continue their legacy on one of the biggest stages that Las Vegas has to offer.
