Bet365 launched its online sportsbook product in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, bringing the world’s most popular sports betting site to a new North American market.

The launch coincided with the announcement of a partnership between bet365 and Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE), the company that owns the Washington Capitals NHL team, Wizards NBA team, and the Mystics WNBA team.

DC Becoming Fierce Sports Betting Battleground

With the launch, bet365 joins the list of leading sports betting brands available in the nation’s capital, a group that also includes Caesars, BetMGM, FanDuel, DraftKings, Fanatics, and Penn Sports Interactive. Players ages 18 and older located in Washington, D.C. can access online sports betting.

“Bringing bet365 to our nation’s capital expands our reach in the U.S. and establishes our presence in one of the country’s most dynamic sports markets,” bet365 Head of Development Trip Stoddard said in a statement. “Our partnership with Monumental Spots & Entertainment gives us an exciting opportunity to introduce bet365 to Capitals, Wizards and Mystics fans and build lasting connections across Washington, D.C.”

As a part of the multi-year agreement between MSE and bet365, broadcasts will feature virtual signage for the sportsbook. The bet365 branding will also appear on the Monumental Sports Network (MNMT), with the betting site serving as the presenting sponsor of Monumental Game Center, a MNMT feature that integrates sports betting odds and other gamification elements into live game streams for MSE’s teams. The feature has been presented by BetMGM since 2025.

Bet365 Increasing Footprint Across US, Canada

The launch gives bet365 a presence in 19 regulated jurisdictions in the United States, including major markets such as Illinois, New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

That expansion has led to a number of partnerships between bet365 and professional sports teams. That includes a partnership with the NBA’s Denver Nuggets, in which bet365 branding and signage can be seen along the baseline of the court at Ball Arena, where the Nuggets play their home games.

Along with its American footprint, bet365 has a strong presence in Canada’s regulated markets. That includes being one of the first operators to go live when Ontario launched its regulated iGaming market in 2022, where bet365's Ontario casino remains one of the market's established options.

Bet365 was also one of the early operators to offer an iGaming option when Alberta's regulated market launched, giving it an iGaming option in Alberta from early on.

However, the company’s North American growth hasn’t come without hiccups. In 2018, bet365 agreed to a 20-year strategic alliance with Empire Resorts’ Resorts World Catskills casino in New York. However, the New York Gaming Commission did not select bet365 as one of its approved online sports betting providers in 2021, and the company hasn’t been able to break into the lucrative market since.
