Casinos in South Dakota generated over $13.3 million in June 2025, a 3.7% increase year-on-year from the $12.8 million generated in June 2024. In addition, casino revenue increased 1.8% month on month from the $13.1 million collected in May 2025. It was also significantly more than the $12.2 million total from April.
The latest report from the state's gambling regulator, the South Dakota Department of Revenue is reported by game type instead of operator, as in other US states.
The highest revenue reported was from $0.01 slots, which generated $10.3 million, up 7.5% from the $9.6 million in June 2024. However, $25 slots saw the highest percentage increase year on year, rising from $27,205 in June 2024 to $32,501.09 in 2025, an increase of 19.5%.
$0.25 slots saw the most significant percent decrease, down 19.2% year on year. $5.00 slots posted similar losses, with revenues dropping by 15.8% year-over-year, while $1.00 slot revenue declined by 13.7% year-over-year.

Table games saw the most significant losses, four out of five game types reported percentage losses year-on-year, with Roulette down 14.0% from around $47,000 in June 2024 to around $41,000. House Banked Poker was the only table game to see a revenue increase, up 1.2% from around $567,000 in June 2024 to around $574,000 in 2025.
A casino in Deadwood City, South Dakota, has been fined a $5,000 penalty after allowing a person on the casino's no-betting list to place bets.
The South Dakota Gaming Commission approved the penalty against Aces Full Inc., which operates under the name Mr. Wu’s. The casino has also reimbursed the person for the $3,450 they lost in bets.
The South Dakota self-exclusion list, introduced in 2022, allows players to voluntarily put themselves on the casino's exclusion list to prevent betting and other gambling activities.
