According to the latest report by the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission, the state's casinos generated over $20.7 million in June 2025, a 121% year-on-year increase compared to $9.4 million from June 2024.
Note that unlike most legal states report casino revenues and sports betting separately, Nebraska’s numbers include retail sports betting, as land-based casinos operate sportsbooks.
Year-on-year revenues more than doubled in June, with Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) increasing across three of Nebraska's four casinos.
WarHorse Casino Omaha saw the most significant upturn, with revenues increasing from $89,000 in June 2024 to $7.7 million in June 2025. This rise came after the casino, which only offered sports betting in June 2024, opened its doors to casino gambling in August 2024.
WarHorse added over $7.6 million to the statewide total, the majority of the increase. However, other casinos in the state also contributed. Grand Island Casino and Resort saw an increase of 75.9% year-on-year in June, from $2.6 million to $4.6 million.
| Casino | June 2024 Revenue | June 2025 Revenue | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| WarHorse Gaming Lincoln | $4,380,488.08 | $6,235,554.08 | +42.3% |
| Grand Island Casino and Resort | $2,640,939.89 | $4,644,826.14 | +75.9% |

| Totals | $9,378,031.75 | $20,716,500.79 | +121.0% |
Meanwhile, Warhorse Gaming Lincoln didn’t quite see the success of its sister brand in Omaha, but also incurred a double-figure increase of 42.3% from $4.3 million to $6.2 million. The Lincoln gambling location lost its crown as revenue leader in the state. Harrah’s Casino was the only casino where revenues dropped, with a decrease was 7.8%, from $2.2 million to £2.1 million.
The rise in Nebraska's casino revenue comes after the gambling market's legal structure was confirmed to remain the same for the foreseeable future. In April, Senator Eliot Bostar ended his attempt to promote get an online sports betting bill that would potentially come to vote in 2026.
Nebraska introduced retail sports betting in 2023, only allowing bets at sportsbooks in licensed casinos. In January 2025, Bostar introduced legislation to expand the market to include online sports betting through consitutional amendment LR20CA, which passed the General Affairs Committee in March.
Bostar claimed that due to neighboring states offering online sports betting and the prevalence of offshore operators, Nebraska was losing out on an estimated $32 million in tax revenue annually. Bostars’ framework proposed allowing up to six sports betting operators in the state. Many operators, including BetMGM, DraftKings, and FanDuel, came forward to voice support. However, the proposal has since been pulled by Bostar due to a lack of senatorial support.
While the Nebraska legislative year ended on June 9, the dismissal of the online sports betting proposal won’t change the timeline for legal online sports betting in Nebraska. The earliest such a measure could be approved is November 2026.

My love for gambling and casinos started early when my grandad handed me a video poker machine as a kid, sparking a lifelong fascination with the game. I grew up watching Celebrity Poker religiously and that turned into my organizing March Madness bracket tournaments all throughout elementary and high school—making every March a high-stakes competition among friends before I was even old enough to place a real bet.
