Indiana casinos made $200.6 million in October, Dealers Strike at Horseshoe Indianapolis

Indiana commercial casino revenue remained stable year-on-year in October, with a minor 0.5% decrease from $201.7 million generated in 2024 to $200.6 million in 2025.

Of the total, table games generated $33.5 million, down 10.9% from $37.6 million, while slots revenue rose 1.8% from $164.1 million to $167.1 million.

While casino revenue remains stable, a new survey has shown that over two-thirds of Indiana residents oppose the introduction of iGaming into the state, with opposition growing as residents learn more about it. For now, Indiana players still have plenty of entertainment options through casino apps that offer free play and social-style gaming experiences.

Horseshoe Indianapolis Strike Continues

Following the walkout on October 17th, the Horseshoe Indiana dealer strike for union recognition remains ongoing.

The strike began after workers informed their bosses in September that the majority of them wanted to join Teamsters Local 135 union. Despite Caesar's, the parent company of the casino, bringing in union buster Littler Mendelson, more workers continued to sign cards, and the strike began.

The workers claim the strike is due to overstaffing, which has led to decreased pay for those who rely on tips. The casino has increased its workforce from 120 to 200 dealers, while they earn between $5 and $7 an hour.

The result of the strike has led to food shortages in the casino as suppliers have refused to cross the picket line that covers all three entrances.

Despite the length of the strike, workers are said to be in good spirits, with dealer Dakota Massman saying, "I’ve never been more proud of myself and the people around me. This is how the working class needs to come together. It feels really good to fight for others. It’s something I want to look more into with my life,” according to LaborNotes.

My love for gambling and casinos started early when my grandad handed me a video poker machine as a kid, sparking a lifelong fascination with the game. I grew up watching Celebrity Poker religiously and that turned into my organizing March Madness bracket tournaments all throughout elementary and high school—making every March a high-stakes competition among friends before I was even old enough to place a real bet.
