Graton Resort and Casino, one of Northern California’s premier gaming destinations, is embarking on a sweeping, multi-phase expansion that will dramatically increase its footprint and elevate the guest experience.

The announcement, led by CMO Jeremy Weinstein, an industry veteran whose worked at MGM properties and Caesars corporate before coming to Graton a year ago.  Weinstein outlines new hotel accommodations, expanded casino offerings, high-end dining, and a world-class entertainment venue, all set to unfold over the next few years. There will also be a brand new non-smoking casino wing.

“We’re going to be extending our hotel, adding another 240 hotel rooms and an adults-only pool on that side of the building, a super premium experience,” said Weinstein during a guided tour of the property.

Speaking to Tino Magnatta, Host of Casino Update, Weinstein said: “It will have an integrated entertainment setup. We’re really excited to bring that to life over the next two years.”

Resort is Tribal Nation Owned and Operated

Graton Resort and Casino is owned and operated by the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. This tribal nation is a federally recognized American Indian tribe with a reservation located in Sonoma County, California. The casino is situated on tribal land, which allows for gaming operations under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.

The construction, already underway, represents a major investment in the future of Graton. Currently boasting just over 3,000 slot machines and 140 table games, the resort plans to nearly double its gaming capacity.

“Over the next few years, we’ll have the ability to go up to 6,000 slot machines,” Weinstein added. “We’re expanding the casino and basically doubling it in size.”

Brand New Non-Smoking Casino Wing

A cornerstone of the expansion is the addition of a brand-new non-smoking casino wing, giving guests a state-of-the-art alternative gaming environment. This new section will also house a relocated and enlarged poker room, a sports bar with wall-to-wall screens, and a rooftop restaurant that promises to deliver “one of the best dining experiences in Sonoma County.”

Graton is also investing in its high-limit gaming offerings, with a new slot high-limit room on the non-smoking side. “It’s going to be much more expansive,” Weinstein explained. “And this one’s going to be really unique. It’ll be limited to the top two tiers in our loyalty program. You’ll have to play your way in.”

Bay Area Location Caters to All Nationalities and Ethnicities

The property also continues to cater to its diverse Bay Area clientele with robust transportation services and cultural inclusivity across its amenities. “We have a substantial transportation program,” said Weinstein. “Being in the Bay Area, we have guests from many nationalities and ethnicities, we want everyone to feel lucky when they’re walking into the building.”

Plans to Attract World-Class Entertainers

Beyond gaming and hospitality, Graton is investing heavily in entertainment. Plans are in motion to build a new live performance venue with a capacity between 3,000 and 4,000. “We currently have a 2,000-person venue,” Weinstein noted. “This will have modern amenities, boxes, better quality sound and lighting. We’re excited to bring in top-tier acts that we know will resonate with our guests.”

First Phase set to Open March 2026

The first phase of the project is expected to open in March 2026, including the new non-smoking casino, high-limit area, sports bar, poker room, and rooftop dining. The final phases, including the hotel tower and entertainment center, will follow shortly after.

“There’s a lot going on here,” Weinstein said about Graton's rising casino presence in California. “As we evolve, we’re excited to show our guests what’s coming. We’re building something truly special for the future.”

Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
