According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board, the three commercially licensed casinos in Detroit collected $117.4 million in revenue for March 2025. That was a decline of 4.5% from the same month last year, although revenues did jump up 19.2% compared to February 2025.
The March revenues completed the first quarter of casino revenues for 2025, with table game and slot revenues falling by 1.2% compared to the same period in 2024.
All three casinos in Detroit saw revenues slide in March 2025, although interestingly, all casinos kept the exact same revenue share in March 2025 as in March 2024.
The smallest contributor to overall Detroit casino revenues, Hollywood Casino at Greektown, saw the least impact from revenue falls, accounting for 23% of the total. Its revenues decreased by 0.6% compared to March 2024, giving the casino $27.1 million.
That’s a positive compared to March last year, when Hollywood Casino at Greektown was the only casino to see its revenues fall, with a 1.4% decline.

In March, the Michigan Gaming Control Board was active in blocking illegal offshore online casinos from operating in Michigan. Not only is this design to keep residents safe by blocking unprotected and unlicensed platforms, but it also drives gamblers to legal options like Detroit casinos.
However, despite banning five online gambling sites on March 5 and another 10 operators on March 24, it hasn’t helped Michigan casino revenues improve year-on-year. Casino operators will hope the significant month-on-month growth shows that this strategy works.
