If you thought that fall would bring a quieter concert schedule, you would be mistaken. Across the East Coast casino scene, schedules are ramping up as venues work to bring customers through their doors. At one Florida Seminole Hard Rock outlet alone, five highly anticipated shows are on the schedule, while the rest of the East Coast is bringing in equally strong entertainment as well.
While its sister site in Tampa has to rearrange its schedule and take a hiatus from shows due to casino operations remodeling, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood has ramped up its schedule in October. It all starts on Oct. 9, when comedian Aziz Ansari takes the stage at Hard Rock Live!. The party will continue the next night, Oct. 10, when Latin legend Ricky Martin brings la vida loca to the same 7,000-seat arena.
The rest of October is just as hot for the Hard Rock Hollywood. Rock & Roll Hall of Famers dominate the stage as Def Leppard uses the Hard Rock stage on Oct. 15 to prep for its 2026 South American tour that will take them to Mexico, El Salvador, Colombia, and Chile, among other countries. Fellow Hall of Famers The Doobie Brothers will take a trip to Hollywood on Oct. 20, while country music superstar Blake Shelton brings the line dance on Oct. 24.
The end of the month will see what has become a highly controversial tour play its penultimate date. British musician Ed Sheeran will bring his Loop Tour to the Hard Rock Live! for a two-date performance on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30. The tour has become controversial because of its lineup, which saw Macklemore kicked off the tour for his political stance on Palestine and the resulting revolt from other opening acts who stood with Macklemore and refused to perform with Sheeran.
Tickets for these shows are available through the Seminole Hard Rock website.
You might think Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood has all the action, but there is plenty of entertainment along the rest of the East Coast.
Two dates dominate the calendar at the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort in October. Country music icon Trace Adkins is celebrating his 30th anniversary with a stop in North Carolina on Oct. 9. A couple of weeks later, on Oct. 23, the 90s alternative rockers Collective Soul will be the featured presentation. The 4,000-seat venue should be packed on both nights for diverse audiences.
The MGM National Harbor in Maryland will also host two shows with distinct audiences. On Oct. 15, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members Kool & The Gang will join forces with the S.O.S. Band for an evening of funk and R&B. On Oct. 24, country superstars Little Big Town will bring their “For the Art of It” Tour to The Theater at MGM National Harbor, a 3,000-seat venue.
In addition, Atlantic City will be a hotbed of concerts across the city's casino venues in October. It starts with R&B legend Gladys Knight stepping on stage at the Borgata Event Center on Oct. 10 for an exquisite evening of entertainment for R&B fans. Also on Oct. 10, country musician Jamey Johnson will be at the Tropicana Showroom for country fans in New Jersey.
Ricky Martin moves up the coast from Florida to New Jersey, performing at Hard Rock Live! at Etess Arena on Oct. 16. Rock & roll will thunder onto the AC scene when Daughtry heads to Ocean Resort Casino’s Ovation Hall on Oct. 17; Hard Rock Live! will feature Godsmack on Oct. 23, while shock rock master Alice Cooper will spend his Halloween at the Tropicana Showroom on Oct. 31.
The Mohegan Sun Arena at the namesake casino in Connecticut tries to present a bit of something for everyone. On Oct. 9, musician John Mayer steps out on a solo tour for a date at the arena, and the next night, two-time CMA Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson will entertain the throngs. Later in the month, a trio of performers from Atlantic City will head to Mohegan Sun (Daughtry on Oct. 15; Ricky Martin on Oct. 18; and Godsmack on Oct. 24) after their time on the Boardwalk.
The big date for the Mohegan Sun fans will come at the very end of October. Members of both the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Rush, will play two dates at Mohegan Sun Arena on Oct. 30 and Nov. 1. The band is celebrating its “Fifty Something” anniversary, of sorts, as bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson have enlisted ace drummer Anika Nilles to honor the late Neil Peart in a show spanning the band’s career.
It is an outstanding statement that these casinos are trying to be full-service destinations for customers, not only in gaming but also in culinary and entertainment. You can find tickets for these shows on Ticketmaster or by visiting each casino's concert venue.
