New Hampshire Casinos Show Mixed Results in June

From the state’s 14 casinos, only six reported yearly revenue increases. Yet, revenue was boosted by the addition of three new casinos.

The Nash reported the highest revenue in June, generating $5.8 million, after opening its doors to the public in March. HHR accounted for 84% of this total, with $4.3 million generated.

This was closely followed by The Brook, whose revenue increased 15% year-on-year, rising from $4.5 million to $5.1 million. Of this, $4.3 million came from HHR.

Revo Casino Lebanon saw the most significant percentage increase in revenue year-on-year, generating $1.4 million last month, up 303% from the $358,567 generated the year prior. Of this amount, 86.4% of the revenue came from HHR, a total of $1.2 million.

In contrast, The Lucky Moose suffered the greatest loss last month. Revenue dropped from $639,229 to $179,840, a 72% year-on-year decrease.

New Hampshire’s Latest Casino Sold to Churchill Downs

While New Hampshire casino revenues rose in June, Casino Salem celebrated its grand opening in July.

The new casino, which opened at The Mall at Rockingham Park, was open for less than a week before the Kentucky-based operator Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) acquired a majority stake in the casino.

CDI agreed to acquire the outstanding equity interest for $180 million, which it paid in cash. CDI now owns 90% of the casino, and developers Joe Faro of Tuscan Brands and Sal Lupoli of Lipoli Companies will retain the remaining 10%.

The deal is expected to finalize in the third quarter of 2025, subject to customary closing conditions.

"New Hampshire is an exciting opportunity, and this transaction - and our new partnership with Joe Faro and Sal Lupoli - allows us to develop a regional destination to draw patrons to Salem from across the growing New England market," said CDI Chief Executive Officer Bill Carstanjen.

My love for gambling and casinos started early when my grandad handed me a video poker machine as a kid, sparking a lifelong fascination with the game. I grew up watching Celebrity Poker religiously and that turned into my organizing March Madness bracket tournaments all throughout elementary and high school—making every March a high-stakes competition among friends before I was even old enough to place a real bet.
