Las Vegas Athletics Land Circa as First-Ever Founding Partner

LAS VEGAS — The Las Vegas Athletics announced a multi-year partnership with Circa on Thursday, naming the downtown Las Vegas brand as the club's first founding partner.

As part of the deal, Circa Resort & Casino and Circa Sports will become the official resort and sportsbook of the Las Vegas Athletics and the Las Vegas Athletics Ballpark. The ballpark is still under construction where the Tropicana once stood on the Las Vegas Strip and should open in time for the 2028 MLB season.

This isn't the first deal between Circa and an MLB team, and it's not even the first between Circa and the A's specifically. The sportsbook operator also has deals with the Kansas City Royals and San Diego Padres. Stevens had already been placing Circa Sports advertising on the outfield wall at the A's current home at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento, since 2025.

“I’ve been a baseball fan my entire life, and I’ve believed for years that Major League Baseball belongs in Las Vegas," said Derek Stevens, CEO of Circa and Circa Sports. "To now be part of bringing that vision to life, and to do it as the A’s first Founding Partner, is incredibly special. It’s about welcoming baseball to Las Vegas, giving this community something new to rally around and creating the kind of unforgettable experiences this city does better than anywhere else.”

Stevens owned the Las Vegas 51s minor-league baseball team from 2008 to 2013, when it played at Cashman Field not far from downtown. He sold the team to the Howard Hughes Corporation for $20 million in May 2013. That franchise is now the Las Vegas Aviators, the Triple-A affiliate of the A's, and plays home games in Summerlin, where the A's themselves are set to play a six-game homestand in 2027 ahead of their permanent Strip stadium opening.

Circa Seats for A’s Games

The casino and sportsbook operator will have a direct role in the A's gameday experience with two unique premium seating options. The Circa Dugout Box will give guests an up-close connection to the players, dugout, and on-field action, an upgrade over traditional suites or premium seats. Circa will have 22 seats in that section for all 81 A's home games.

According to Stevens, getting into the Dugout Box is extremely exclusive and requires a casino host.

Circa will also introduce the "Time of Your Life" seats, a tagline the casino has used since opening. These will add another 32 seats elsewhere in the stadium, bringing the total to 54 Circa-connected seats per game.

These seats will only be available through Circa hotel packages. Both the team and the casino see this as a way for visitors to make an A's game part of their Las Vegas trip.

More details about these seating options will become available closer to the 2028 season. Financial details haven't been released, but Sports Business Journal reports that this is a 10-year deal.

Circa’s Las Vegas Sports Affiliations

Stevens is a longtime sports fan, and that was the inspiration for Circa. The world's largest sportsbook and Stadium Swim were ideas that grew out of his love of watching and wagering on games at the Hilton (now Westgate) SuperBook.

The casino and sportsbook operator is involved with numerous sports in Las Vegas. Most notable locally is Circa's partnership with the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights.

In addition to advertising The D and Circa in the arena, the latter is the jersey patch sponsor. You'll often see Stevens rooting the team on from primo seats behind the goal. Circa Sports is also a patch sponsor of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks, and the Blackhawks will visit the Golden Knights in the season opener at T-Mobile Arena on Sept. 29.

Circa is also the hotel sponsor of the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). The casino will have numerous activations during NFR from Dec. 3-12.

The casino is also the official Las Vegas casino and hotel partner of Dana White-founded Power Slap through 2027. The property has hosted slap-fighting events and is featured in ads for the league.

What’s Going on Around the A’s Stadium?

Bally's has the right to build a casino, hotel, and retail complex around the A's stadium, currently under construction. Earlier this month, we reported that the most recent plans removed the hotel and casino from the first phase of the development.

The company's CFO resigned but is staying on through Sept. 30 to help with the transition to a new chief financial officer.

There haven't been any Las Vegas updates, and Bally's didn't mention the future property when the company reaffirmed its commitment to build casinos in Chicago and the Bronx earlier this week.
