British poker pro Mitchell Hynam emerged as a standout in the 2025 World Series of Poker’s $1,000 Super Turbo No‑Limit Hold’em, though he narrowly missed the money. Known for his aggressive style and rapid-fire play, Hynam showcased both skill and resilience in the fast-paced, one‑day event.
"It's not really set in, but it feels great, got the bracelet and another 250,000. Life's good," said Hynam.
While official chip counts from the tournament’s Day 1 did not place him among the top finishers, Hynam’s involvement in Event #100 highlighted his continued presence at key moments of the Las Vegas series. Super Turbo events demand quick decision-making and adaptability, traits Hynam displayed throughout.
Hynam has accumulated 13 WSOP cashes, according to WSOP’s official website, totalling $116,909 in WSOP earnings. His recent results at this series include:
• $3,000 Six-Max NLHE (Event #49): 174th place, winning $6,000.
• $25,000 High Roller Eight-Max (Event #26): finished 20th for $73,639.
• $2,000 No-Limit Hold’em (Event #17): placed 62nd, earning $8,032.
Despite missing out in Event #100, these scores boost his WSOP earnings this series to approximately $186,632.
Commenting on his win Hynam said: "I didn't really care at the start, but once I got chips, I had to take it seriously.
"And then the buy-ins just get bigger and bigger. You keep going, and it always comes out right in the end, you hope."
Broader Career Achievements
Overall, Hynam possesses a strong global tournament resume. His Hendon Mob profile records 129 live cashes and total live earnings exceeding $1.09 million. Notable highlights include; a 4th place at the April 2025 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown ($285,000). Victory at the 2025 Galway Poker Festival Main Event (€86,108). Top tier finishes across both European and U.S. tournament series throughout 2025.
Hynam’s presence in numerous WSOP events beyond the marquee Main Event reflects his strong competitive edge and stamina. Though super turbos can be unforgiving, his ability to cash in varied formats, from high rollers to turbo structures, demonstrates versatility and readiness to challenge top-tier fields.
As the WSOP drew to a close on July 16, Hynam remains a player to watch in upcoming tournaments, potentially including circuit events overseas.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
