Even the luckiest casino players in the land lose – often. You can’t get win every time, and after all, where would the fun of the game be if you did?

But what if I told you there’s a smarter way to lose, courtesy of a particular bonus type that select UK casinos hand out? This is the cashback casino bonus, whereby you’ll get a share of whatever stake you lose returned to you, ready to be played again.

Sound good? Of course it does. So let’s see where you can pick these promos up, and I’ll also run through how it all works for the newly introduced.

Where You Can Find a Cashback Bonus Right Now

Far from the most common type of promo around, the cashback casino bonus sure is pretty lucrative. There’s a scattering of UK sites offering them out at the moment; some of them running a time-limited promo while for others it’s an integral part of their offering. It’s a competitive market out there after all.

I’ve trawled through too many online casinos to count, and here are the best cashback casino bonus offers I found:

A Closer Look at My Cashback Bonus Recommendations

All British Casino – Always 10% Cashback

All British Casino is a top class casino site in so many ways. It’s one I really like to play at, from its apt red, white, and blue styling to its vast library of video slots. But a good bonus certainly sweetens my perspective here, and how could it not when All British are offering 10% cashback for good.

How does it work? Well, from the first completed deposit onwards, 10% of every deposit you make will be added to a cashback counter. Whenever your balance drops below £10, you can dip into your cashback counter and use the funds to play games. If you win with the money and want to withdraw, you’ll need to deduct whatever’s left in your cashback pot before you do. But after that, the money’s all yours.

No Bonus Casino – Always 10% Cashback

The clue’s in the name for No Bonus Casino. They like to keep it simple, and that’s exactly what this offer is. Sure, you could technically call this a bonus, but I’ll opt not to get technical about what is a pretty impressive deal.

First thing to know is that this is a lifetime offer. Sign up and play today, and it’s never going away! On each individual day that you play and lose all the money in your account, you’ll get 10% of what you wagered handed back in a free cashback bonus the following day. Though you’ll need to deposit £10 each time to unlock it. Still, I’ve found this setup really does make my money go further.

QuinnCasino – 50% Cashback on Your First Day up to £25

It’s all about the newbies over at QuinnCasino. If you’re not already registered here, you could be making the most of a great cash back casino package right now.

To kick things off, you’ll need to deposit at least £10 after joining, though bear in mind it’s a cashback deal and so the more you deposit the larger the lump sum you’ll stand get back. If your account ends up with losses at the end of your first day playing, the site will refund your bankroll with a single rollover casino bonus with a value 50% of your losses, up to a maximum cashback bonus £25. That’s one way to make a first impression.

Pub Casino – Variable Cashback Offers for Existing Players

Now, an admission. I can’t promise or tell you exactly when or what you stand to get from Pub Casino. But this site makes clear they’re no stranger to offering cashback as a casino bonus from the get-go. They describe such promos as being ‘available from time to time’.

Much like at All British, 10% of everything you deposit at Pub Casino goes into a cashback pot. When there’s an offer running and provided your account balance has dropped below £10, you can access your cashback funds and use them to play. And once again, the only real downside is that if you win and want to withdraw, you’ll have to pay off the balance of the remaining cashback first. So fingers crossed for a big win!

What is a Cash Back Casino Bonus?

You may well have already encountered the concept of cashback at some point in life. And at online casinos, it’s really much the same. Whenever you spend – in this case it’d be money that you bet with and lose – you get a portion of your outgoings back as a reward.

Most casino sites that offer cashback do so to the tune of about 10%. That may not sound like much at first, but when you imagine getting 10p back for every pound, it suddenly sounds a lot more promising. It effectively lowers the stakes a little.

Why the cashback? Well, I probably don’t need to tell you that the online casinosphere is a crowded marketplace, with household name brands battling out brand new casinos for your custom. A cashback bonus casino is bound to catch yours and my eye given it’s offering to pay us back for our losses. Especially so if it’s a lifetime offer as is the case at some sites. That’s bound to bring some loyalty.

Why I Love the Free Cashback Bonus:

  • Lowers the stakes. At 10% cashback, you’d only ever stand to lose 90p from each £1 bet you place and lose. You’d get that 10p back to play with again.
  • No Wagering requirements. Most casino bonuses expect you to go through the wringer and bet your bonus value 30 or 40 times over before you can cash out any winnings. Not these - cashback comes without wagering requirements. The balance is returned is yours to use just like it were normal, self-credited funds.
  • Lifetime promos. Most casino bonuses are aimed at attracting new players, with deals on first deposits and time limits capped at the first day, week, or month. Cashback casino deals are different, they’re more focused on loyalty. So some sites keep offering cashback the whole time you play there.

Types of Cashback Casino Bonuses and How They Work

Now we've gone over the basic concept of a cash back bonus arrangement, it's time to get into the nitty gritty. Each cashback bonus casino will do things a little differently, with various methods of counting what you're owed back and some conditions attached as to how and when you get it. The good news is that we can sort most into one of a few categories. So what are they, and how do they work?

Type 1: Casino Cashback on Net Losses

Sometimes, you gotta play and lose. Whether you're the type for live blackjack online or video slots are more your bag - frequently waving goodbye to your wager is the one true constant across all casino games. It's the very nature of gambling, and the reason why the wins feel so exhilarating when they do come.

A Cashback arrangement on your net losses will set out a 'period' - often a single day or week. If you've spent more playing in the period than you've made back in wins, you'll have a net loss. The casino then returns a proportion of this net loss back to your cash pot.

💡 How it works in practice: say I'm playing at a site with a 10% cashback bonus, calculated weekly. In the past week I've spent £300 on games and have £200 in winnings to show for it. I've therefore made a net loss of £100 over the period. The arrangement sees me get 10% back on my net loss, and come the end of the week I receive 10% of my £100 which equals £10 back into my cash pot. Tidy.

Type 2: Cashback on Total Wagers

A much less common category among cashback casino bonus offers, this setup is more generous than the net losses format. That’s because it counts all your lost bets within a certain timeframe and, up to a specified limit, returns a share on all those lost bets without first deducting for any winnings. The stakes are clear for us - we’re going to be getting funds back on any and all lost bets up to the limit, should we wish to keep playing until we reach it.

💡 How it works in practice: let’s assume I take up an offer for 10% cashback on total wagers, up to a maximum £200 of bets. The set timeframe here is one week, and in that week the total value of wagers I lost comes to £250. Now, that’s beyond the maximum cashback bonus here, but I still get 10% back on all losses up to that £200 limit. Therefore I end up getting £20 in cashback.

Type 3: Cashback Welcome Bonus

In a crowded ol’ market, online casinos know they need an incentive to entice new players over to them. Almost every site offers some kind of welcome package for those newly signed up, and some throw a casino cashback bonus in as part of the mix.

Since they’re introductory offers, any top cashback sign up bonus is likely to be tightly time limited. There’s also usually some sort of minimum deposit required to unlock the promo in the first place – often £10 or so. It’s not unusual to see daily free spins and deposit matches thrown in alongside the cashback.

💡 How it works in practice: so I join a new casino site and they’re offering 10% cashback on all my first 24 hours’ lost bets, up to a limit of £25 in cashback. Once day one is up, I’ve placed £150 in bets that I went on to lose. Shortly after, I receive 10% of that £150 back, and so £15 cashback lands in my account.

Type 4: Existing Player Cashback Bonus

Once you’re signed up and the welcome package is over, the smarter online casinos know your loyalty needs to be earned. That’s why some sites offer existing customer bonuses, and a cashback promo is among the levers they can pull here.

You may find you’re suddenly notified of a one-time deal where a site gives you cashback on your wagers for the next 24 or 48 hours. A casino may also try to win your loyalty by agreeing to gift a small amount of cashback on a rolling daily, weekly, or monthly basis for the foreseeable.

💡 How it works in practice: I notice an email drop into my inbox from one of my favourite casinos. It tells me that for the next 48 hours of play, I get a whopping 20% cashback on all my lost bets up to a maximum £25 returned to the player. I wager and lose £100 over the next couple of days, and come the end of the period, £20 cashback goes into my bankroll.

Those All-Important Cashback Bonus Conditions

Every promo comes with strings attached, and cashback casinos aren't any different. Conditions you need to check for and understand are:

  • Wagering requirements. These are very rare on cashback bonuses, but be sure they don’t apply before you take the plunge.
  • Maximum cashback bonus. There will usually be a limit on either how much total cashback you can collect, or a cap after which cashback won’t count on those wagers. This usually applies over a set timeframe, like a day or a week.
  • Time limits. For introductory offers, you cashback could count for as little as the first 24 hours. Other times it might be a week. For lifetime promos, know what your cashback ‘period’ is – the point after which your cashback is totalled and returned before renewing. It’s usually a day, a week, or a month.
