Full Program for WPT Macau Poker Tournament Released

A month after announcing it would be holding an inaugural poker festival in Macau, the World Poker Tour (WPT) has published the complete schedule for its upcoming WPT Macau extravaganza.

Coming to the 1,000-room Wynn Macau from June 18 to 24, the WPT Macau is the WPT’s latest move to expand its brand across the whole of Asia following its first-ever Cambodia poker event in January. 

The California-based organization revealed the imminent tournament comes via the inking of new alliances with casino operator Wynn Macau Limited and global experiential entertainment provider Allied Gaming and Entertainment (AGAE).

Opening Action

The WPT explained the WPT Macau is due to feature twelve central events with buy-ins ranging from HK$5,000 ($640) up to HK$200,000 ($25,540). 

The organizer went on to divulge the action from inside the five-star Wynn Macau will kick off on the Tuesday with a HK$50,000 ($6,400) Mini High Roller competition alongside a HK$5,600 ($715) Milestone Satellite to the WTP Macau Championship and a HK$8,000 ($1,020) SuperStack game scheduled to run over two days.

The first day of the WPT Macau’s Super High Roller competition, complete with a HK$250,000 ($31,900) stack, is scheduled to begin on the Wednesday. 

Attendees will  be able to enjoy a HK$550 ($70) buy-in Single Hand Flips game to the Milestone Satellite and a Milestone Mega Satellite for seats into the WTP Macau Championship.

This second day of action is to additionally offer a HK$10,000 ($1,270) buy-in Turbo Freezeout game as well as a Turbo Milestone Satellite for seats to the WTP Macau Championship event.

Ensuing Excitement

The WPT said the Thursday of its WPT Macau extravaganza will see the Super High Roller and Milestone Satellite competitions continue alongside the inaugural round of the HK$40,000 ($5,110) buy-in WTP Macau Championship Event. 

It declared this latter competition is to play right through to the evening of June 24 while the Friday is to host to a HK$25,000 ($3,190) Hyper Turbo contest.

For the Saturday, a range of High Roller, Shootout and SuperStack competitions are to begin while the Sunday is to see a HK$4,000 ($510) buy-in MegaStack Satellite in addition to the start of a two-day HK$11,000 ($1,400) Big Bounty event. 

This will all come before the Monday’s HK$16,500 ($2,100) Megastack Single Day and the HK$5,000 ($640) Deepstack Turbo Closer.

Positive Pledge

Adam Pliska serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the WPT and he asserted Macau has ‘long been a sought-after destination’ for his organization before going on to promise punters ‘an incredible event’ from June 18 to 24.
