Grosvenor Casino Brighton has completed a £2.7 million refurbishment of its Brighton seafront venue, unveiled on Wednesday 22 April 2026. The six-month project, which began in October 2025, represents the most substantial investment in the building’s 96-year history and positions the casino as a significantly upgraded entertainment destination on the South Coast.
The overhaul spans gaming, dining, and hospitality across the three-floor venue. On the gaming floor, 28 additional slot machines and 26 electronic roulette tables have been added, expanding capacity for casual and regular players. A new bespoke Poker Room has been built, complete with a dedicated bar and cash desk. The casino says the setup is unmatched by any other venue on the South Coast.
A private high-stakes gaming room has also been introduced, available to hire for exclusive VIP events and tailored experiences.

The changes are immediately relevant to Brighton's gaming public, tourists visiting the Palace Pier seafront area, and serious poker players who previously had no dedicated room facility at the venue. The investment also directly benefits jobseekers: 30 new positions have been created across multiple departments, and two new gaming academies have been launched to train aspiring croupiers and support career progression within the industry.
The scale of investment signals confidence in the bricks-and-mortar casino sector at a time when UK venues continue to face competition from online gambling. For Brighton specifically, a £2.7m refurbishment of one of the seafront's most prominent landmarks, now in its 96th year of operation, is a meaningful commitment to the venue's long-term future and to local employment.
Daren Brain, General Manager at Grosvenor Casino Brighton, said:
"The scale of this investment is a huge milestone for us and reflects our commitment to delivering a truly premium player experience. There's no better way to celebrate this beautiful building's anniversary than with a fitting transformation that sustains it for the future. We can't wait to welcome both our regular players and new visitors to enjoy everything the refreshed casino has to offer."
The fully refurbished venue is now open. Electronic gaming and slot machines operate 24 hours a day. Live table games, including roulette, poker, and blackjack, are available from 11am to 6am. On the top floor, the refurbishment includes a new restaurant specialising in premium steak and fish dishes, alongside Sunday lunches, with panoramic views across Brighton's seafront. Reservations are available via OpenTable. For full information, visit Grosvenor Casino Brighton.

Grosvenor Casino Brighton is part of the Rank Group estate, one of the UK's largest land-based casino operators. The Brighton investment follows a broader industry pattern of established casino brands upgrading physical venues to compete on experience, food and beverage, and premium amenities, areas where online operators cannot match them. How the refurbished Brighton site performs will be a useful indicator of appetite for premium land-based gaming on the South Coast.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
