The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has appointed veteran tournament official Andy Tillman as its new International Circuit Tournament Director, signalling the next major phase in the brand’s worldwide growth.
Tillman, who has spent nearly two decades managing live events and poker operations, is known for his meticulous approach to structure, fairness, and player experience. His appointment comes as the WSOP ramps up its international ambitions, building on record attendance figures and renewed interest in live poker after years of pandemic-related disruption.
“Poker has become a truly global game,” Tillman said in the announcement.
“Our mission is to make every WSOP event, no matter where it’s played, feel world-class.”
Tillman will oversee 12 international and 17 U.S. Circuit stops on the 2025 WSOP schedule, including major tournaments in Europe, South America, and Asia-Pacific. The move consolidates the WSOP’s push to unify global standards across events while maintaining its reputation for high-stakes excitement and professional integrity.
The WSOP International Circuit, launched in 2015, has grown into a global brand attracting thousands of players annually. Under Tillman’s direction, organisers aim to streamline event operations, modernise logistics, and enhance the overall experience for both recreational and professional players.
Industry insiders say the appointment aligns with the company’s long-term goal to position the WSOP as the definitive international live poker tour, rivalling the biggest events across Europe and Asia.
Central to Tillman’s new vision is innovation through accessibility. The introduction of the WSOP+ app now allows players to register, buy in, and check chip counts from anywhere, offering a seamless digital bridge between online and live play.
The app reflects Tillman’s focus on efficiency, transparency, and player convenience, three values that have defined his reputation across the poker world. Early feedback from players and tournament staff has been highly positive, noting faster registration times and fewer administrative delays during major stops.
Poker players across the UK and beyond can look forward to a more unified and streamlined WSOP Circuit under Tillman’s leadership. The 2025 season will feature expanded international stops with better scheduling to avoid clashes between major events. Tournament rules and structures will be standardised globally, making it easier for players to transition between stops without surprises at the tables.
Player services will also see a major upgrade, with real-time event tracking and registration through the WSOP+ app. That means faster buy-ins, smoother logistics, and more time for what matters, the game itself. Fans can also expect stronger media coverage and live-streaming access, connecting UK audiences to the action from every corner of the world.
Industry observers say the coming season could be the most digitally integrated and globally connected in WSOP history, and Tillman’s appointment may well be the ace that makes it happen.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
