Aristocrat Gaming have continued to develop their growing slots base in UK casinos by bringing Mo Mo Mo Mummy to Empire Casino in London.
The game, a Las Vegas and US favourite for a couple of years now, has debuted in the Aristocrat on the Square section of the popular Metropolitan Gaming property, joining many other of the slots giant’s most popular titles.
Interestingly, though, it now stands beside predecessor, Mo Mummy, rather than replacing it. It has actually replaced NFL Triple Score in the space.
While Vegas-going UK slots players will certainly welcome the addition of Mo Mo Mo Mummy in their casinos, many might be scratching their heads over why that title has been selected.
It is unusually placed in a way. Yes, Mo Mummy, the original in the series, is established in the UK now and tends to appear in any casino with an Aristocrat presence. However, Mo Mo Mo Mummy is not actually the latest in the series.
That moniker technically belongs to Spooky Link. But, more accurately, and as Aristocrat would probably tell you themselves, Spooky Link is an expansion on the Mo Mummy series, not a direct sequel. It belongs in the same family, but is a different game.
In that sense, it could be seen as similar to the relationship between Lightning Link and Dollar Storm, or Lightning Dollar Link. Same character crossovers, themes, and game mechanics, but a different game in its own right.
Mo Mo Mo Mummy, then, would be a selection consistent with what casinos.com were told at the Aristocrat on the Square launch in February this year, which was that the company wants to take players through a journey with titles rather than just plonking the latest title on the casino floor.
That was why the original Mo Mummy was used in the first place, and the same logic lies behind the original decade-old Lightning Link being chosen instead of more modern iterations.
The theory is that they are not catering just to UK players who are Las Vegas regulars, but a whole new slots audience who are unfamiliar with their library and require a tried and tested introduction to it.
The Aristocrat on the Square launch was one of the most exciting pieces of slots news in recent times for many UK gamblers.
Aristocrat are seen by many, through titles such as Dragon Link and Buffalo, as being the gold slot machine gold standard. However, the company never had much of a presence in the UK meaning an expensive trip to Las Vegas or another foreign destination was required to play them.
The partnership with Empire Casino in Leicester Square, London, then, was genuinely innovative. It launched with four titles: Lightning Link, Mo Mummy, Bao Zhu Zhao Link, and NFL Triple Score. To add to the Vegas-style experience, games were presented in individual multi-denomination cabinets rather than the multi-game single-denomination cabinets as is standard in the UK.
“As the first dedicated Aristocrat Gaming space in the UK, it reflects our focus on creating distinctive, premium environments that elevate the player experience,” said Alex Oswald, Managing Director of Metropolitan Gaming.
“Working closely with Aristocrat, we’ve brought together world-class gaming content and a carefully designed setting to deliver something truly special for our guests at Empire Casino.”
